Its nice to see nothing has changed. I have a 2022 Edge. 50k miles. Shifts hard. And sport mode? Forget about it, the tranmsission cant seem to decide what gear ot wants. And no paddle shifters....so you're at the mercy of the tranny. Great engineering!!

On the old CD4E Escape, I used to remove the hose feeding the front cooker and let the engine pump out the fluid. I'd pump out a few quarts at a time, shut the engine off, add the amount I removed, and repeat until the fluid ran clear (12 quarts to replace the 10 it held. and would be able to swap out all the fluid at one shot. EDIT: Evs don't have transmissions..

There is no excuse for not changing the fluid every 30,000 miles on a vehicle with a drain plug. I just bought a year old F150 with 10,500 miles on it and the 10R80 tranny in it. Will have about 15,000 on it early summer, and i will be dropping the pan changing the fluid and filter. I wish i would have done it when i goit the truck, but winter was coming on, and life was crazy busy then. I had a 2014 chrysler minivan that i changed the tranny fluid and filter in every 30,000 miles. Sold it with 170,000 miles and the original tranny was still working great.

There are so many issues with the 8F35 transmission. I bought a 2019 Edge SEL with 32k miles, now sitting at 38k miles and there bucking and jerking when going up and down between 25m/h -40m/h. Dealer said it needs a new torque converter and valve body. Covered under warranty. They will start working on it next week and I hope it fixes the issue. I've read so many different takes online, but everyone recommends you change fluids every 30k miles to have it run longer.

@@BigBensCarsAndCycles I got the Edge back 4 days ago. Here are my observations: - The steering isn't as straight as it was before. I feel the left wheel it's slightly angled towards the left. When going straight on the highway or street the car slowly leans to the left. -The car engages into D a little hard. I can hear and feel the clunk. It feels like more torquey and you can feel the car pulling forward as soon as placed in Drive (obviously with foot on the brake). It wasn't like that before. The transmission shifts perfectly now... Except, when downshifting from 6 to 5. It slams very hard. I fear it might be a little more than just new valve body, torque converter and fluid. I’m bringing it to the dealership next week. I’ll see what they find.

HEY BIG BEN... Nice Video.. We have a 2018 FORD EDGE 3.5 V6 Titanium NON TURBO. I have Drained and Filled our 6F (55) I think it is probably 7/8 Times. It's doing Fine, However I have a question for ya??? If I have been doing this Drain N Fill service to our EDGE, should I, or would I want to use the BG Cleaner and Treatment and or the Lube Guard Shudder Fix stuff at this point? (Car has 35K) On the ODO right now. Would this be a WISE Thing to do at this Point / Milage?? Or Just continue to Drain N Fill the Tranny and Not use any Cleaners at this Point in it's LIFE??? HI, I have a question, I have Ford Focus (EU market) 2.0 150HP with the same 8th speed gearbox. I have small issue that when I drive 80km/h on Normal drive mode in 8th gear, the car starts to vibrate for 2-3 seconds becouse its on low RPM (1200-1500) can the oilchange fix that or should I open Hidroblock to change solenoid valves or something. NO ERRORS on diagnostics and local Ford Service can't find the problem. the trembling of vehicle only noticeable at lower speeds/RPM's. when driveing in SPORT mode its better and gear changeing is normal (usualy gear changeing on normal mode is slightly bumpy)

Would the shudder while accelerating to 35ish mph be what the TSB from 2021 is about? My wife's 19 Edge has a nasty shudder or rough shift when we hit about 20-25mph and my research brought up a TSB saying it may be a software problem and that reconfiguring the PCM and transmission solenoids might fix it. Or is that what you did when you said you were resetting the transmission tables?

Are you very familiar with the 8F57 trans? I know it, the 8F24 and the 8F35 are all coming out of the same place and very similar. Since i’m looking to massivly excede the torque rating for my 8F35 on my 2020 Escape 2.0t, is there any possible application of the 8F57 into the escape? Do they share mounting and or engine connections (This would be going into a 2.3t corsair engine). If not is there anything in theory to beef up the 8F35?
@BigBensCarsAndCycles
@BigBensCarsAndCycles 16 күн бұрын
The 8f57 is a lot different than the others. Its pretty much a completely different transmission. Different mounting, different bell housing bolt pattern. It's bolt pattern matches up to the v6 engines. The 8f35 isn't the most durable transmission - but should hold up a while in your situation. You can wait until it fails, then tear it down and see what failed - and see if theres billet parts for that application

I have a 2017 Ford Edge Titanium 4-CL turbo. Recently, 3 different times in the last 3 weeks, while driving/accelerating driving 40 MPH or below, it felt like my transmission "clunked" or made a "thud" sound, then resumed "normal" driving. My AC was running full blast during these instances (idk if that's important) I have roughly 114K miles, and have a full warranty on it, and have maintained maintenance at every interval. What could be causing this? I have an appointment to have it looked at at the end of this month (7/24/24) but I'd like to have some additional info before I take it in because, no offense, but a lot of women aren't taken seriously in the automotive world, at least in my experience

On my 2017 Ford Edge, I drained and filled the transmission fluid 3 times at 30k miles. I watched several videos showing how it's done, not hard. Be careful with the drain plug, there is a gap between the head on bolt and transmission case body. You don't want to over torque it, could crack aluminum transmission body it screws into.
