This International Harvester 915 Combine is for sale, currently as "non-running". I attempt to see if I can get this old IH fired back up, and run it through its paces in hopes the farmer can sell it faster, and maybe for more. It's the largest of the 15 series and boasts a 150HP 345 International V8.

All my dad did was let me hold the light and get yelled at. Then I bought a basket case four wheeler and learned projects are for when you don’t wanna light money on fire and punch yourself in the junk but want the same effect.

No kidding, I just got out of the dealer tech trade. All the master techs have quit and now all they can find are kids with zero experience. Most millenials my age were never taught to look at trades, just be "college bound." So now half of us don't know shit about anything and have degrees only useful at a museum or university.

2020 has been such a messed up and crazy year for all of us. but personally, I lost my dad in February, and my first born won was delivered 2 months later in April - all during the pandemic, talk about roller coaster. Watching Derek work with Bradley in this video makes me miss my dad so much. I rarely worked on cars with him, but I have so many fond memories to look back on. At the same time this same video reminds me to keep my chin up and look forward to the good days and memories I have to look forward to with my boy. Life is hard, life is crazy, and we all have to grow up (our toys get bigger and more expensive) but you just gotta keep on gettin' on. Well I'll be dipped, I just got all emotional over a video about an international combine.

Good stuff! My Grandfather had a farm in eastern SD. and mom was their only child. As soon as I was old enough to carry a 5 gallon bucket and help with the animals I spent the summer at the farm. Gramp had a retired McCormick pull behind combine with a 6 cylinder flathead engine. He told me to " take it apart and see how it works". I was 7 years old and that was 55 years ago. He was a good and wise man. Thanks for the memories!

It’s like we all can relate from Bradley’s point of view, these little shows with him and Derek are simple, yet they are are simply time machine mirrors for those of us who grew up with similar cars, equipment, and upbringing in the sum total. I think it’s somewhat due to the vehicles featured, many of these are not unlike what my own dad and I worked on over the years. And right now, many of us are yearning dearly for the comfort of that warm simplicity. I know I am. And I don’t care about ending a sentence in a preposition to expound on this very fact lol....

Derek takes Bradley with him often, and if you watch a lot of his videos, you'll see that all of them are about more than getting old vehicles running. They're about family, appreciation for the stories behind these vehicles, and teaching Bradley (and us) to value all that.

While my dad wasn't any sort of a mechanic, my best friend's dad was a good one. I grew up around his farm equipment and old trucks, and loved handing him wrenches and just trying to learn how stuff worked. He was a patient guy and took in my 50K questions. Makes me miss those days. There are a bunch of us old farm boys around your channel, we appreciate 'er when you wrench on a old tractor, combine, or farm truck as part of the mix. Keep pouring into your boys Derrick, as others have said, that's a rare thing these days. Anything that's relational vs. screen is a plus in my book. We love your channel and my family watches you guys instead of cable crap. Hope to see you at a car show sometime.

Same here!! They APPEAR, especially Dereck because we see him the most, to be just a good, old fashioned, normal family. Very refreshing considering that seems to be a lost thing. And you can tell that his love for what he’s doing is genuine. Nobody would go through what he goes through just for the “likes“. I realize this is now his job, but he absolutely loves what he does… You can tell. I say bravo Derek… Very refreshing content. Wishing you and your family the best always.

My dad had a way of teaching my brothers and me without us realizing that we were being taught. He was a very educated professional engineer, but at the same time, he understood that experience was the best teacher. One example is bringing home a whole pickup load of old junk lawnmowers he bought at an auction for a couple bucks. He backed the truck up to the barn and just said, "You boys unload the truck and see if you can get any of them running." We always had access to tools and things to tinker on, and a huge wealth of knowledge when we had questions. He , too, was a great dad.

For some reason I like the smell of old combines. Corn flakes and grease. This was the first VGG YT video I watched. Watching it again in celebration of a fellers 1.5 million subscribers. This one's pretty good. Has Bradley picking up on his dad's character. "That's spec".....😀

Hahahaa . John Deeres made great tractors. but the JD combines my dad had were garbage. The JD combines were of course of later manufacture that the 4010's , 5010, 4430 and 4440 . Nothing runs like a Deere. almost all the Combines they had after the New Holland 990 were pretty much trash as well. They wound up getting a brand new Gleaner / Deutz Combine. forget which model. that ran a few years troublefree till it started taking out bearings. but that air cooled V8 Deutz Diesel was absolutely troublefree.

IDK about a vintage model but the newer ones usually do 25-30 "highway" speed. 6 is just operating speed. But it depends on how fast it can take in grain. Which depends both on the machine and what exactly you're harvesting.
