The micro air works great on my 20-year-old 4-ton HVAC unit 1 Schneider 6848 Pro runs the whole house lithium and batteries of course.

I installed the micro air on a 4 ton scroll compressor and my 6kw growatt with the giant transformer started it but was very close to the Max watts the inverter could do... So I got rid of it and installed the Mr cool universal dc inverter unit.. now it runs so much easier and about 2.5kw to 3kw normally

I guess I was probably bumping the limit with my 4K on a 3 ton like your 6k on a 4 ton. Though I didn’t have an easy start yet! Just had a thought, surge current might be worse in the heat of the summer. Not sure on that one.

the 3k growwatt units have an issue with the ground to neutral and some AC's won't run without it. There are fixes online.

my central air unit, which is fairly new uses about 2.4kw to run, but about 16kw to start. this is all new to me so i could be wrong, i measured hot or neutral 240v at the box going to the pump outside, using the inrush setting on my amp clamp. 16kw/2.4kw= 6.66 times. my puny 120v 5kw high frequency psw inverter is not going to get it done

That sounds about like mine. 66 starting amps sounds right. I don’t have an I rush meter…yet. I’ll get an update about running the micro air, it’s installed but haven’t tried it with the inverter yet!

@@BeeneEnergy I went with “hard start” kits on my 2 five ton units. They did dramatically reduce the “LRA” (locked rotor) starting amps. Have not yet tried running it on my EG4 6000.

The hard start kits, are they the capacitors you wire in? Let me know how it works!

Did I miss what batteries you were using or was it just pulling from your panels?

I briefly showed the BMS for the battery when I talked about how many amps were going into it. It's a home built 11.7KWh.

I'll be needing some too soon, hopefully 450-500watt. Shipping is expensive on freight tho, so it eats into any good deal.
