March 2023 we did this interview. We talked about our experience with Mikko before we found out she had autism and whether or not we think she will ever live a normal life. Since then, Mikko has made an amazing amount of progress with having autism that it makes us wonder...what is normal? Normal to one person is not always normal for another. We all live different lives, do different things, and view life differently. We believe that normal is subjective to the individual and what they deem as normal for themselves. In our eyes, Mikko is as normal as anyone; living her own life the only way she knows and being the beautiful spirit she is. We will always be proud and supportive of her no matter how different she is. That's what makes her HER!
