Hybrid Calisthenics

Күн бұрын

Breathing methods like the Wim Hof technique have been around for thousands of years!
They have been shown to have a myriad of benefits, including:
-Enhancing athletic performance (strength, endurance, etc).
-Improving mental state
-Helping depression
-Boosting immune systems
-Increasing energy
-Reducing inflammation
And more!
Relatively recently, some studies have turned from researching whether or not these breathing techniques work to "how they work and why."
This is an exciting time as these ancient techniques can now benefit billions of people.
Wim Hof himself has accomplished many incredible things, such as consciously warding off disease and controlling his immune system. He's also been shown to withstand extreme temperature for prolonged periods of time-spending hours in the ice or the heat.
Despite this, Wim Hof has said that he is not unique. Anyone can learn his method and reap the benefits for themselves!
As I've said, breathing methods like his have been around for millenia, but Wim IS unique in the sense that he has brought their possibilities to the forefront of the modern world. For that, I thank him and leave his name in the title of this video out of respect and deference to him.
Thanks for watching!

This was actually really cool. After 40 breaths i fully exhaled and didn't feel the need to breathe again for like one minute. During this time my vision felt really clear, my mind was calm and collected, i was fully aware of myself and even felt some sort of freshness/energy flowing through my lungs and blood. An insanely powerful technique.

I was always a nature and forest person but trough this new lifestyle I became even more connected to it. I also found the love of my life in this new state of mind and Time, and knew that I was not afraid I was strong I took the shot. Wim hof is a wonderful person and this thing is a gift, it helped me get back on track, and most of all stop with medicines. Everyone should know. WIM HOF BREATHING - inhale all the way and let ur belly expand - Exhale and relax all ur muscles let it flow - Do this 30 to 40 times - On your last breath, ur gonna inhale as usual but exhale all the way - Hold this and don’t inhale until you feel the urge to breathe again - Time it to see how long it is - When you feel the urge to breathe again, inhale deeply for 15 seconds. - Exhale and breathe that’s one cycle

I stopped what I was doing immediately (binge watching your videos on my phone lol) and started doing one set of this breathing technique at 30 repetitions. I counted the breaths with my fingers and then stopped breathing for 60 seconds after my last exhale and continued with the 15 second inhale hold to complete. What I can tell you is first of all this is the first time I have done a real structured breathing exercise and it was nothing short of amazing. My eyes watered down to my ears (I don’t know why but I take that as a good and cleansing sign), my upper back and neck got warm and the pain went away while lying down. My vertabrae shifted temporarily the other night when I slept in a bad position so the pain is bad and came back when I sat up but it did give me a lot of pain relief in my back and it doesn’t hurt as much when I’m in the sitting position. Also I could feel the channel of airway my breath came in through my nose, it felt cool and refreshing. I did finally get a little lightheaded at the very end but hardly at all, and I did enjoy counting my breaths and how long I could then hold my breath. This is so structured and amazing. I also feel if I get covid or any other respiratory illness that this can help me both preventative if I do this daily but also to get better if I do get sick. This is very cool and easy to follow. I don’t even know all the health benefits but I can tell my body really likes doing this. Thanks so much for this video and all the topics of health and fitness that you cover. Oh yeah also it made me yawn probably 5 times at least but it’s also bedtime.
