Very important to note that safety glasses should be worn 👀

If you have them, lapidary wheels are my choice for rounding, shaping etc on silver because they are water cooled. Just use the diamond wheels, not the resin wheels. Whichever sander you get, this one or one of the pendant motor driven, be aware that working silver on one of these can get the piece so hot it can seriously scorch your fingers in a matter of seconds. Either have a dish of cooling water handy and dunk every few seconds to cool, or wear some kind of finger protector (leather or wrap) applied to avoid nasty surprises.

I've been wanting one for years, currently retired and never really could afford one. PS I got to tell you, I've gone to jewelry School and quite frankly I've learned more from your channel than anything

black and decker made a self contained belt sander years ago i bought one and it is still going strong plus you can still buy the belts for them and it did not cost a fortune as i would say that one will, it really narks me paying out huge sums of money for a fancy name piece of gear when there are just as good if not better cheep goods out there in the world.

I think a belt sander could save you a lot of time. Never thought of it, but now it's on my list.

Wow! This is so cool! I've been on such a strict budget, it's taking me years to get the tools I need (or desire) so I'm definitely entering to win this! I've always loved tools even before getting into jewelry making. 😊 Thanks for a great demo!👍

Yet another informative video from Andrew. I did not realise I needed one until now, it does more than I thought. Do you think it might come later with a shield on the front? Just worried about something flying off into my face.

Hi Andrew! I love your videos they’re so helpful and informative, I do have an unrelated question though, when passing my silver ingot through the square wire section of my rolling mill the metal is flaking a lot, is this a problem with the ingot or is it user error with the mill? Any information would be super appreciated! Thank you! Keep up the amazing content

All the belt sanders I've looked at are huge and I have a very limited amount of space. That looks like the answer to my dilemma. Problem solved. Thanks.

Andrew, I hope You and Louise are well. Question, Do they make belts for sharpining gravers wirh this compact sanding system?
@Atthebench
@Atthebench 3 жыл бұрын
In theory yes the grits will shape the graver but the final sharpening would have to be done on a sharpening stone
