People who constantly live in an echo chamber and who are online 24/7 think police are racist murderers, when in reality this is literally 99% of what most cops do on a daily basis. Props to the city for giving the people an inside look into policing; really helps strengthen ties with the community.

I moved to upper michigan after 20 yrs in wausau area. Winter tires are a necessity up here but it seems very few people use them in Wisconsin. They help so much with avoiding sliding crashes and can help you go up hills in snow. Great investment.

I didn't know what snow was until I moved to Pennsylvania. Thundersnow.....yes thats a thing. These snow scenes give me flashbacks to the 2014/2015 Erie PA snowmageddon. Maybe Pennsylvania isn't that bad compared to Wisconsin. LOL.

Did you know that in the United States thundersnow only happens in certain areas? The Northeastern United States, especially New York and the New England states, Utah, Nevada and the Great Lakes states are the most common areas for it to happen. My daughter lives in the Buffalo area and they are pone of the most active areas of NY. The first time it happened, she couldn't wrap her brain around it. This just goes to show you that Mother Nature can be really freaking cool (when she's not trying to kill us with tornados, hurricane and floods!)

We don't even compare to Wisconsin in terms of snow besides it barely even snows in PA and when it does its in mid march after it was 65 degrees for the entire week prior.

we loved the Crown Vic but switching to AWD was life changing for us in the winter. We have some pretty steep hills which were impossible back in the day.

A lot of times most police departments have policies in which they must issue citations involving accidents if you can determine who is at fault.

Why wouldn't she? I get that it wasn't malicious and she was *trying* to slow down, but at the end of the day, she still failed to control the vehicle and caused an accident. It's not a big deal obviously, but that's why she only got a ticket.

Honestly, the cop should have seriously encouraged her to purchase some excellent snow tires rather than a ticket. A lot of people don’t think about tires further than how long they’re going to last and that’s all. OE tires are dogshit in any kind of weather.

Best thing to do in a small fender bender is to NOT call the police unless you absolutely have to. Absolutely have to’s include if one or both vehicles aren’t drivable, someone doesn’t have insurance, there’s injuries, you’re blocking the road or the person you’re involved with is just being a pain exchanging info or you can’t understand the other person. Other than that, just swap insurance info and off you go on your merry way, the insurance companies can fight it out and you no one has to walk away with a traffic ticket that will up your insurance even more and the cop can still be on the road dealing with priority calls for service instead of being tied up on minor fender benders.

In WI, crashes are also required to be reported if the damage is over $1k. And with some newer vehicles that $1k mark is probably pretty easy to hit

Most people can drive without hitting other cars in the snow. If you can't and you hit another car, you get a ticket as a disincentive to not do it again. Not sure why people think someone "trying" not to cause an accident shouldn't get a ticket.

It's bullshit those cops ticketed those drivers. Private citizens are responsible for maintaining their property and making it safe for people or risk lawsuit, yet the government can wash itself of responsibility and liability for failing to maintain a safe driving surface.
