Great video! I'm about to replace the linkage arm on my 2016 Tundra and I always like to watch a YT video prior to attempting a repair like this to ensure I don't overlook anything. Your video was great, as others have said already, great editing and I loved watching your struggles and various solutions as I definitely can relate. Thank you for making/posting this very informative, helpful video!

Worked for my D21 hardbody. I keep buying what I am being told is the "correct" sized bushing and they're all too small. I just need the wipers to work for a few weeks until I find out what the correct bushing is. Great idea thanks for posting this.

Thank you for preventing me from going bald! What a fantastic idea! If you could do one on how to disassemble to install a bushing, mine is the bottom bushing. I would be most grateful!

Thanks for the helpful info. I had a bushing go bad on my 2000 frontier and I couldn't find a Bushing anywhere and I didn't want to scower junkyards trying to find the peice I needed. I just did it it works great well see if it out lasts my truck lol

I had a few washers with inside diameter slightly smaller than the ball so I cut a slot through one side with my angle grinder and snapped it in place. Squeezed the gap shut using channel lock pliers for a more positive lock. Without the plastic bushing there is slop between the ball and linkage but it's only a temporary fix.

Thanks for the video. Will have to do this for my 2003 Hyundai Tiburon. The motor works, but front wipers don't. So can I just replace the bars on it? Also, I have a 93 Nissan pick up that seems to work in overdrive with one speed. How can I slow it down? Had one before and it seemed to work normal.

This should be used as an example of people that have to make something work using what they have around them.

That's good for a temporary quick fix, there is a reason the bushing is plastic. It is to allow the expendable bushing to be replaced for a couple of bucks, instead having to replace the wiper linkage assembly and wiper motor after the shaft is damaged..

John Tucker the reason why he fixes it like this is probably because you can't buy the bushes seperately, which is very common on most of the cars

They sell a bushing kit assortment for $4 at Schucks. I had to buy two kits for the 4 bushings I needed. I dunno maybe that helps somebody out there.

I've bought new bushing but they don't hold :(

Try giving them some heat to adjust the size, use vice grips to lock them in place.

My 99 Nissan Sentra fixed twice by Duggers Auto Repair in Mt Pleasant Tn. First time it lasted 15 min. They just did it again. It just broke again. It lasted 30 min. Man is this a Sentra problem! So frustrated, im just gonna take it all apart and try to figure it out myself!

I just spent 3 hours trying to get these to press fit in with the supposedly "correct" bushings and despite using channel locks and grease and all that and press-fitting them outside of the car (using the motor's ball joint to press fit both ends of the linkage arm)....it's impossible. I can't get them to fucken fit no matter what. You pop on one side with channel locks and the other side pops off. I think I'm just going to do like in this video and use god damn trailer hitch cotter pins. I don't care if it squeaks or w/e I just want the wipers to friggen work.
