I'm almost 14 years in with my husband and THAT is something that I learned. I didn't know how to do that going in. When you commit to your martial covenant, you choose to do that and you LEARN that, God blesses the marriage in unimaginable ways.

My husband and I married for all the wrong reasons, we were wretched, our marriage was falling apart, but God saved us as individuals and as a couple. I love when Preston acknowledged that issues are present in marriage but it’s about pushing forward WITH God! God will move when both are surrendered to Him! My husband is my best friend, that matters! Praise and glory to God!

My husband and I were such great friends. In fact our friendship was one of the biggest reasons I wanted to marry him, kept saying "imagine waking up next to your best friend". Yet we are now on year 13 and last 3 and half years have been beautiful. So men!!! For CHRIST sake, you wife and children sake. Humble yourself, study Ephesian 5, fast, pray and allow the SPIRIT to lead you. So that you can love and lead your wife in a way that expresses CHRIST love for HIS bride. Jackie thank you for being fully you, not shying away or making yourself "palatable" for others. In my healing journey with the Lord, I have come to love myself, all of me, but there aren't many reflections of me out in the world which makes life a little lonely sometimes. It's been such a breath of fresh air to listen to you these last couple of years on your podcast and relate to the way you think and explain things. It's like you have the words to explain things I feel. “I reflect on how many people got married at the same time that aren’t married now” my husband and I got married when I was 19 and next month we make 18 years married. 4 other couples that we know were married within 6 months of us and they all were divorced within a couple years. It’s crazy.

So beautiful to see love. I’m going in 27 yrs of marriage and to see where God has taken our relationship naturally and spiritually. We still stay up late night talking and laughing. Wow! So this episode blessed me so much! Funny story, I found your ministry through "the covenant series". Back then, I had been a professional wedding planner for over 10 years at that point and was so moved by you alls story that I dropped a comment or a DM on Facebook offering my wedding planning services for free. See now..."Bucko" would have been on time cuz the way my team used to manage a wedding we would have had him all the way together!!! BBAAAAAABYYY! I can see Preston had tears in his eyes at time here. All married couples need to do this from time to time. Go back and look at when you made your vows, why and how far God has brought you. Loved this!💖

Happy Anniversary!! May God continue to bless your union. In agreement with Jackie, simpler is better for the most part. I had no bridesmaids and a matron and maid of honor (sister and best friend) and my husband had a groomsman and 1 best man (cousin and best friend), and we were so happy with that.
