A California woman received no jail time in the stabbing death of her boyfriend. Bryn Spejcher stabbed her boyfriend, Chad O'Melia, 108 times across his body. A jury found her guilty of involuntary manslaughter. The judge ruled that she committed the crime after smoking highly potent marijuana and was in the throes of marijuana-induced psychosis. She received two years of probation and community service, outraging the victim’s father.

I hate that you're not smart enough to figure this out yourself, but you were probably in control of yourself and your actions at the time and made the choice to be a thief. I was caught with over an ounce of MDMA and got a way harsher sentence than this woman did for stabbing somebody to death but I understand what I did wrong and I chose to possess those drugs. She had no history of violence, no previous charges and there's not plenty of science to show that THC has the potential to trigger psychotic symptoms in some people.@@trophyscene5015

The defense successfully argued that she was pressured into taking the last hit of weed by her boyfriend and she went into cannabis enduced psychosis. I'm not gonna pretend like I understand the law but I at least think she should have been in psychiatric care. As someone who also hallucinates pretty badly on benzos and will just straight up attack people, I kind of empathize with her. I have epilepsy and it's common practice for hospitals to give Ativan to break a seizure which I can't have. I have to call every hospital and tell them not to give it to me if I have a seizure. One time a nurse decided she didn't understand why and gave it to me anyway. She got bit so hard she screamed. I have a pretty similar experience with weed just less violence and more sheer terror. You don't know what that's like until you've been there. She has to live with herself.

He was in a schizophrenic episode and did not go to jail. (It was in Canada, but still, it was a man.) The fact that day where the truck driver accidentally killed 4 people because the truck out of control, and the driver got jail in prison for many years. Some people get little to no punishment for murdering their spouses. Back in March, a jury sentenced Carey Birmingham to only 10 years in prison even after being shown a video of him shooting and killing his wife point blank. Now this woman gets no jail time at all for killing a her boyfriend by stabbing him 108 times!! In both cases the excuse for the lack of punishment was that the murderers weren't in control of their actions. They said Carey couldn't control himself because he had just found out that his wife had cheated on him. Now in this case they're saying that this woman,l was smoking weed that was too potent.🙄 What's worse is that they're blaming the victim by saying he's the one that gave her the weed... OUTRAGEOUS!

I read on reddit that they're leaving out so much information about her. Like the fact she takes pills and that she's mentally ill with a violent history and she tried to off herself before. In other words, it wasn't the weed. She must've taken pills and became violent. She's definitely guilty. She knew she had a history yet she smoked and knew her actions. How sad.
