I remember listening to a therapist once say that she quit doing couples therapy because it's virtually impossible to help the couples. She said that the only goal is to save the relationship, and often it soon becomes apparent that isnt what the goal should be. And because the collective duo is the client and not the individuals the therapist cant accutually say to them individually what is best if its at all detrimental to the interests of the other partner.

As a DV survivor i spotted several things. 1. Shes done this before in private. She felt comfortable enough to do it on camera and in public, because this is her new normal. 2. He is used to this type of behavior. He wants out. Her gaslighting the mistress on the phone, saying all those things what he said. She wants the mistress to take her side. 3. Mistress isnt falling for it. I think the mistress and this woman child knows each other in some way. 4. Shes sending the guy to mistress way. Its a form of manipulative behavior. Like haha i win. 5. He flinches often. Im sure shes done worse behing closed doors. I think if she wasn't driving, she would have went full psycho. 6. She doxxed the mistress. Shes trying to gain control of the mistress. She said some horrible things to the mistress using racist speak. 7. She used every trick in the book of a narcissist. 8.He snaps and she cries put as a victim. Trying to act scared. Shes not. 9. Shes comfortable enough to show her true colors to the cop because shes a woman. The cop failed him miserably. 10. She's not scared of her behavior. Shes gotten away with this behavior probably since childhood. From me watching this over and over i can tell hes not her first victim nor will be her last unless she's imprisoned. She keeps bringing up the mistress race to the cop. She is racist. Period. Shes a full on narcissist. No one is safe around her. She needs jail and therapy. Edit: she wont change. She's evil to her core. For him hitting her back and calling her names. I see a victim snapping. Ive done it myself towards my ex husband. After years of abuse i did snap and hit him. To get him off me. To stop his attack. I left him after 4 1/2 years of pure hell. I never looked back. Its hard to leave an abuser because they gaslit a person. Plus fear. Fear of how am i going to survive without money. If youre in a DV situation, please get out. My ex husband was close to unaliving me. 1-800-799-7233 DV hotline.

Spot on! Been there and through this all myself. Remember that Eminem song with Rihanna? That verse, "Next time imma tie her to the bed and set the house on fire" yeah that was his favorite line to use because at the time, this song ("Love The Way You Lie") was popular. My ex was actually on parole and he had caught new charges out of county and out of state, called me to get him from the police station on a Saturday night @ like 11:00pm, before his PO was notified and bring bail money. $1,000 cash to be exact. I was working double after double at my job as a Patient Care Technician on the mental health floor of the hospital. He'd take my car, numerous staff would witness marks on me and I always had a reason, an excuse for fingerprints around my wrists, forearm, biceps and my neck. He'd sit outside my job waiting for me. He switched our bank account cards because Wachovia bank cards looked the same back then and he had been withdrawing money sporadically from my account and knew that I would never use my bank card unless I was taking money out of the machine. He started using substances daily (we'd occasionally be "rolling face" on the weekends, I'll admit it but I was very careful about substance use because I am in recovery and could've been hit with a random test from my job at anytime) Well, when I bailed him out, driving from New York to Connecticut in the middle of the night on my day off, right after getting out of the shower, he gets in the car nonchalantly and friendly to the cops, I started driving and BOOM! FIST 👊 TO FACE! He was screaming that I told his sister and I kept saying that she called me and told me what happened and where you were. Didn't matter. I was so used to being treated this way that I tried to unalive myself that night. For 2 days, he watched me vomiting in my sleep, unconscious and did nothing because he didn't want to be sent back to prison. Thank God my coworker and big sister like best friend from work had called me to check on me and was waiting for me at our job. When he answered my phone, she knew something was wrong and demanded to know what's going on or she was going to call the cops and trace my phone to me. It got him scared enough to fill the tub with cold water and place me in it and I was out of it but responsive enough to go to a hospital close to where I worked but that didn't have a mental health floor or affiliated with referral service to one. While they were checking me out, they had to make my ex leave because he kept answering questions for me and he was "aggressive towards the staff and there were questionable markings on my face and body". He actually left the hospital and met his dealer while I was alone in there. This was 72 hours into what I had attempted and failed at doing. My best friend/coworker who called was onto my ex's game at this point and she coached me best she could of what to say to avoid losing my job due to the entire situation. I'm editing the best I can, so just imagine what was occurring, as I feel like you can relate. When they finally let me go, he jumped on my bail, so that grand was gone and as I was trying to recover, I had to drive around looking for him because his family was constantly placing pressure on me to financially take care of him and they refused to really help at all, except for his older sister. Now, I been the loyal girlfriend while he was locked up before (twice, both bids) and I ended up finding him and his parole officer was enraged at me because "the longest and most stable (my ex) had ever been was with me and for 9 months, you looked me in the face and lied about what he was doing to you!" .... I ended up having a miscarriage, finding out I was pregnant after he went back in and had to max out his bid and start new felonies charges he had received. I couldn't continue the relationship anymore. My parents got involved when on a county jail visit, we're allowed to hold hands and hug before/after visitation, my ex had grabbed my wrist and smacked me across the face for not doing something right, I don't remember what I had done but I was 19 years old and back home with my parents who were pissed off and my Ma called the jail and the C.O. that was watching visitation admitted to seeing me crying and they watched the tape and needless to say I refused to press charges on him. I was banned and he was sent to "the box" for a month. A couple years later I ran into my ex coworker from a previous job and he had always liked me, he could tell I wasn't doing well and he was like that strong, caring person I desperately needed. Fast forward to present day, now we're married, have our own home and we have our precious daughter. I'm still dealing with C-PTSD due to numerous things that I have been through but everything I shared was just a snippet of the type of things that I had been through. Before I was with my ex that I had just discussed, I was with someone from a "rehab romance" which I DO NOT EVER SUGGEST ANYONE GO THROUGH BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT SUCCESSFUL! I am sharing this because I don't want to appear like I'm innocent and virginal. I made a lot of mistakes and learned the hard way. If anyone can relate please, please, please call the Hotline # that @bluephoeenix posted in the comment above. Your life is worth living happily, "normally", free of fear and having to walk on eggshells all the time.

And there is no such thing as a "perfect victim" like the media likes to think. See the circus show amber heard vs Johnny Depp case. Suppose you and your partner tend to explode after therapy. A: your therapist is not doing a thorough job because they shouldn’t be allowing you to leave a session so activated violence could potentially ensue, and B: you need to take separate cars if you’re going to in-person therapy if it’s not in person. Suppose You’re doing it over Zoom. Try being in entirely separate locations during your session. Sometimes, having a refractory period can be immensely helpful and allow you to process your feelings before your raw emotions Illicit a response you’ll regret

Part of why it's hard to leave is because the brain produces certain chemicals in toxic relationships with a lot of ups and downs, you get addicted to it. When you're in it you might describe it as "passionate". Secure relationships can look boring afterwards.

Thank you that’s my reaction too.. It’s obvious she’s been violent before but it’s equally obvious that he’s been violent as well. I had a friend who’s in a relationship like that and she would provoke him and harass him and embarrass him to the point where they both got violent and then she pretended like he was this explosive monster and she was a perfect little lamb. It’s not self defense when you have the physical upper hand in less than 2 seconds and still continue with the violence. This was horrific to witness and it’s obvious to me that none of the people involved are mentally sane in any way. To all the men in the comment section saying he just defended himself: you just love watching a woman get beaten over something you can justify in your small mind, don’t you? I feel like people maybe didn’t watch the whole video or why aren’t more people shocked by how violent he became so quickly? I know all about reactive abuse and am a survivor myself but all I see is two unstable people who need help and/or jail.

Yeah, his response was nuts. She was being unnecessarily physical, and then he gains control of her head violently while she is operating a motor vehicle?! As far as I'm concerned, that looked like attempted murder-suicide. When I was once in a similar position (being hit by the driver in a vehicle and them driving erratically), I popped the door open once I got free and tucked and rolled out into the ditch. I took a lot less damage than I would have if the driver had hit something.

Yeah for sure, at first I was like "good on you, you warned her and you shouldn't let her keep hitting you like that!" but then pretty quickly it seemed to become excessive and I kept mentally telling him to stop. He was doing way more than what could be justified as self-defense. I understand why he'd be in a heightened emotional state and lose his shit, but that doesn't make it okay.

Reminds me of that case where that "influencer" stabbed her boyfriend to death. Afterwards there was evidence of her abuse. It's disgusting and more men should tell on their significant others. He immediately told that police officer it was, "ok". They do it because their instinct is to protect. She doesn't deserve protection.

I'm less than 1 year out of a 4 year relationship with a girl who did this exact same type of shit. The exact same sort of behavior and everything. Going to try and not project my situation on this one. Though I can say that with me, there's only so much abuse you can take before you feel you need to defend yourself. I feel I know exactly where this man is at and I hope he gets out for his own sake, because it really does feel like everyone is against you. The police will assume you somehow started it. So you cant look to them. Friends and family will say "just leave", but its insanely difficult to get out or get them out if you're both on a lease or have pets or kids or you pay for the house but she wont leave. So you stay and this shit keeps happening over and over. At a certain point it feels like your only option is to meet her violence with more violence, but if you fight back she'll immediately play the victim and use the predisposition to see men as abusers against you. Regardless people will still debate whether or not hitting her back after being repeatedly punched in the face by her and grabbing her is also you somehow being abusive? Like I dont think this would even be a conversation if the situation were reversed. Point here is for everyone: be EXTREMELY selective about who you get into a relationship with.

Unfortunately they are today. Sarah even told them to leave her alone , so idk why shes in that server still but if I were Sara I would sue those scumbags.
