She didn't die because she was trying to save her people. She died because she heard a gun firing and she went out of the room to see if Clarke was okay

+jada prioleau at some point i thought lexa was gonna die in a war or a 1 vs 1 battle. I never thought she'd die due to a gun shot. I mean im so pissed that after the make out scene with lexa and clarke, lexa's gonna die like c'mon we deserve better. Lexa deserve better. The lgbtq fans deserve better than that. Im longing for more clexa moments tbh

Never have I been impacted by a characters death like Lexa, and I think a lot of people felt that way. It's always sad when a character you love dies, but this death really seemed to bleed into people's actual lives. When Lexa died, it was the first time ever in a TV series that I actually felt I was mourning a loss in real life. It stayed with me fora number of weeks, that gut wrenching feeling. Lexa and Clarke existed in a time of TV (which is crazy to think now, 5 years on) when there wasn't a lot of representation, and this representation really mattered to people. Her death and the absolute mindlessness of it did more than hit a nerve; it reminded LGBT people about this idea that we don't get to have happy endings, and in the end, that's why a lot of people we're deeply impacted (and even committed suicide) because of it.

the more I watch this, the more you can see the cast especially Eliza, Bob and Lindsey just look dazed and confused. Not sure how to process what is going on. This is their 1st time experiencing the questions and backlash first hand. After this panel the cast interactions with Jason have never been the same; Eliza has been throwing so much shade at the show since March, she took it upon herself to carry the burden of Jason's mistake. Just like "Clarke", she has been a voice for a fanbase what was hurt by the show and that support her 100% no matter what. The Lexa and Clexa fan base was big for T1OO no matter what anyone say's; it true. That fan base made trends for the show and put it in the public eye, not sure how Season 4 will carry on without that strong base.

RPGMaster right. So horrible writing, and Eliza's acting went downhill, her character became a doormat. This show has no originality anymore late got lost mid-S3. I thought Octavia was going to become King of Gondor after the fall off the cliff and by "magic" survives! The List Clarke made is stupid, Jaha trying to justify his actions is irrelevant, Bellamy as a character is a joke now, Jasper just needs to die, What does Monty do again? Harper why? Murphy "I'll stick around as extra" , OH Raven! Should just build a ship and leave! Oh! Oh! 404 was the lowest ratings ever! With 998,891 less then a million. Yeah. No watches Live anymore. So how is S4 great again?
@petrinajc
@petrinajc 7 жыл бұрын
RPGMaster I'm emotional about it based on the bullshit the show continues to queerbait with "leaked" spoilers. I'm emotional about it because I watched since the pilot and stopped midway through S3; I couldn't take it anymore. The show baited the lgbtq fanbase it had, for a whole year! Made promises, just to get S4! There is whole data base online with proof of this! and even now a year later people still think the Lexa/Clexa are in the wrong when every media has proven our point! Jason wants to pretend he knew nothing about staff members going into LChat giving false hope to a those in that chat that had none based on their location, home environment etc. So yeah; this show can die when it killed Lexa. Which it did. No one cares for it. The network has to buy trends on Twitter, just to get noticed. Giving out episodes 405 & 6 to the press early, which has never happened before and is rare in the industry. I have never watched a show that has gone this far as it has to get a renewal. It's sick and twisted!

PJ Reactions You're right. Season 3 was the worst season because they split up the main group and fucked up some of the core relationships. Seasons 4 and 5 have been great so far and no amount of vindictive self-victimization from the LGBTQ audience for one character arc is going to destroy the show's viewership and renewals. Fringe fan groups always have delusions of grandeur. Check out those losers who want to destroy Star Wars because Luke died in TLJ. I assure you, not even a couple thousand fans' commitment to boycott a show out of revenge is going to touch any major network decisions. The show has to be legitimately bad for that to happen, and it just.. isn't.

Jason was obviously uncomfortable defending why Lexa was killed off the show. Beginning 1:30 he even apologizes and admits that had he done his research and known the big fan base that Clexa has created, he would have done something differently.

Jason was trying to create a very powerful moment in Lexa's death. I don't know about anyone else, but it worked for me. I have decided not to hate on him for this bold move because it was one of the only scenes in anything, movie or tv, that brought me to tears. We should be praising this man for being able to write and direct tragic scenes so perfectly that they can influence emotion from fans, but instead we're crucifying him for performing well at his art.

actually no. why should we praise him for something that has to be done. the way he exacted the death was pitiful and not realistic whatsoever. i'm laughing so hard at what you said. first off she had to be killed off because she was doing ftwd and couldn't do two shows at ones and second she should have survived the shot to the stomach. the things that other characters in the 100 have survived were much more brutal and worse. yet lexa could not survive on bullet to the stomach where it could easily be fixed. he should not be praised and i feel for those who are attacking him. yes they should should do it in a better manner but they also have a good reason to dislike him. he didn't even kill lexa off in a respectful manner. he also should not have given fans false hope that she would not die in the middle of the season. fans are pissed because rotherburg can direct shit and make things realistic.

This show isn't about heroism, finn-->martyr death. Lincoln-->martyr death. Lexa-->ooc walking unguarded into a room in her own city and whoos gets killed. Titus-->suicide to protect clarke, heroic.... Yes, clearly this isn't about heroism. Oh well you know, whats done is done. Overall it honors Jason that he admits he was wrong on how he handle social media, and the cast was a class act

to anyone who defends this director good at what? killing off a character unrealistically? hmmm...lexa shouldn't have died in the way she died. a bullet to the stomach? right because it's not like raven was shot in the BACK and left for dead for at least seven days. i get why she died but fans are pissed because of the way he exacted it. it's poor directing on his part. fans are also mad because if the hope that was received on their end. i'm not saying lexa should not have died bc yes i know she is doing ftwd but she should have been given some respect to her death. so may i rephrase myself again, i didn't know killing off a character unrealistically was good directing

The problem isn't even that lexa's gone, it's that she was one of the only gay characters and of course she died and Clarke, that's bissexual, is probably gonna end of with the lead male. The other gay characters have basically no screen time. lgbtq fans deserve better

I for one love the road this show is taking. Yes Lexa was a great character and her death should have been dealt with in a more appropriate way but i feel that her death is a vital part in how Clarke grows further as a leader and a person. And Alycia is fully committed to FTWD meaning that at one point or another she was going to have to leave, i think even Eliza states this in an interview. So yes her death was hard on the fandom and the LGBTQ community who felt that they were pushed to the sideline but let's not forget that this is actually a great show, with other great characters with story lines that are amazing, i for one am fascinated with the ALIE/Raven story line and also how with Lincoln's death in 309 that may possibly bring Clarke and Octavia back together as this badass duo.

THE LAST QUESTION! YES!
@LunaArgentum10
@LunaArgentum10 8 жыл бұрын
People need to stop hating on Jason. Lexa was a badass, he treated her like a badass. Her being gay was not remotely important to her character, and that is true equality and the representation we want in our LGBTQ characters. Her love for Clarke was important because it affected her decisions, but the fact that is was a same-sex love was not crucial to the story. That in itself was amazing. And for everyone bitching, Alycia is committed to Fear the Walking Dead! We all knew that! So not only did Alycia need to leave the show, Lexa's death was a HUGE plot development point for the show. The pain for Clarke and how another huge loss of someone she loves will crush her and force her to rise again, it also had the reveal of more Grounder culture, and the push of consequences from Pike, Bellamy, Clarke, and Lexa's actions culminating in a realistic end.
@siiri3580
@siiri3580 8 жыл бұрын
Actually, most people aren't hating on Jason because Lexa died, since that was something we all saw coming, but rather because of the way she died. Her being shot by a stray bullet (that was fired by her mentor) right after the Clexa scene didn't have any meaning in it, it was simply a trope that we've seen happening to way too many LGBTQ+ characters in both tv and movies.
@LunaArgentum10
@LunaArgentum10 8 жыл бұрын
I've seen that happen only twice before to Lesbian characters. Don't know any gay male characters that that has happened to. And I'm sure there have been plenty of straight characters that it has happened too. (Also all of the complaints I have seen have been about her dying period. No mention of the trope you speak of, until a few comments on this video.) The fact that Titus was responsible was also a huge plot point outside of just her dying. That was big for his character, his interactions with Clarke from that point forward. And personally I preferred Lexa getting to die "in Clarke's arms". A bullet to the stomach was a realistic wound that would take time to provide the goodbye conversations but was not fixable. And I personally loved the "I don't want the next Commander, I want you" moment. As well as the fact that Lexa spent her dying moments more worried about comforting Clarke and Titus. Speaks volumes to her character, and was in line with what we've seen her character to be.

+LunaArgentum10 Um! excuse you!? her being a lesbian had EVERYTHING to do with her character. When we all were still getting to know her she REVEALED she was a lesbian by spilling the beans about Costia! That info wasn't needed at that time so it was obvs gonna play a bigger part than we realized.
@LunaArgentum10
@LunaArgentum10 8 жыл бұрын
+CXL Shipper Outside of the show, to us fans, especially L&B fans, her being a lesbian is hugely important. Yes. Inside the show it is not. Let me see if I can explain this better. Let's look at Emily Fields from PLL. Her being gay is very important to her character WITHIN THE SHOW. It's important for her storyline. We have the plot point about her struggling with her sexuality, the one about her coming out, about her mother not accepting it and having to grow and change, about her friends accepting it but having to change their previous perception of who Emily was to who she is. Kurt for Glee is bullied for being gay. Their identity as gay is central to their story arcs WITHIN THE SHOW. Now take Lexa. Just for a second image Clarke is a guy (and Finn was a girl if you want). Now ignoring how much that changes plot in all other aspects of the show, if we look just at Lexa's story arc, Clarke being a man, changes literally nothing plot wise. So when I say that her being a lesbian is not important WITHIN THE SHOW. I mean it had no baring on her story arc. Yes, being in love with Clarke was very central to her story arc. It affected sooo many of her decisions. But the fact that it was a same-sex love, had no impact WITHIN THE SHOW. I'm saying her lesbian status was not an important character trait to who she was. Her strength, her wisdom, her sense of duty, her ability for compassion/desire for change, those were the traits that defined her character and drove her story arc. Not her being gay. Which as I stated somewhere previously, is what I think we should strive for in our LGBTQ characters. Yes the coming out story can be hugely beneficial to community members who are at that point in their life, and we still need characters that have that in their story arc. But I don't want every character to have that in their story arc. I think the fact that she was treated the exact same across the board with all of the straight characters is fantastic and immense progress. Same for how no one even comments or bats an eye at Clarke's bisexuality. That's what I'm saying. If that made sense to you. Hopefully it did.
@cxlshipper6763
@cxlshipper6763 8 жыл бұрын
Well it was a huge part for me. And you must be in a better community b/c Clarke being bisexual and Lexa being lesbian DID NOT bode well for people where I live. They didn't like that turn and so I was pretty much alone till I got to the huge fandom. I don't live in a city. I basically live in what I call the country part of the area and people don't see gay people here. It's basically like having a blonde puppy with two black lab parents. You just don't see em here. And the gay people that there are who are my friends, everyone thinks that they are just confused or some biz and will grow out of it. So when I find, not one, but 2 strong, brave, sexy, badass characters on a TV show AND THEN turn around and find out that they are gay and are showing said show in an area where people seldom like it, it has a MAJOR impact on me.

Honestly, in my opinion, Lexa would have needed to die at some point. It hurts so much for me to say that but if they were to continue the AI story, they needed to get the Second AI from lexa. It hurts so much the way they went about killing her but it does make sense. Lexa was my favourite character and still will be through the power of tumblr gifs but I think it's time we accept that her death was indeed a need for the plot. Yes there are a lot of plot holes with Jason's writing but the ALIE Story is getting very interesting. I still do not like Jason from the way he reacted to our (the fans) outrage, he dismissed it like we were nothing but petty children crying over a broken toy. But I do think that it was a good leap into the story line. I think we all just need to remember that Eliza and Alycia are very much alive and are great friends in real life and nothing will stop that.

There are so many plot holes. How come Raven didn't die when the chip was taken out of her neck? In the finale, Clarke even got the flame taken out of her neck by saying some dumb magic words. Lexa really didn't need to die to show how the next commander would be chosen. She died in the most horrible way possible and later episodes even proves that she didn't need to die the get the flame out of her.

Jason hadn’t just made a show up namby-pamby, oh let’s do this let’s do that. He’s drawing from history and the human condition. Of course, Lexa had to go. As he explains, every historical figure who had tried to upset the balance has been killed by their own people. He additionally goes on to correctly say that people can die in the simplest, stupidest ways. So, although she was killed by one of her own he made it an accident. Perhaps if she’d been killed in a coup would’ve been even worse. She was such a strong leader it would’ve be shit to see her killed intentionally by one of her own. I think it was the timing that was off.

A part of me doesn't really believe he was actually sorry about the pain he caused because of what he did in the series finale. The arbitrary rule of no one who died before the "test" was so unnecessary on so many levels. Even if you take out Lexa why does everyone else have to suffer? Monty, Harper, Lincoln, Jasper, Maya, Kane, Abby, Bellamy.... I mean even if they couldn't get them to be on the show they could have said they were ascended, but no. Let alone the fact that you have Alycia THERE, and no, no happy ever after for them. To me, even if it was just them there until they died, it would have taken the sting out of losing Lexa and missing out on what storyline that could have been. I loved her being on there in any form, but to me not giving these two a happy ending was just a f### you to the fans. Just my feeling though.

he literally had alycia on set, they could’ve found ANY way to bring the real lexa back (and not that alienthingy that took her form, which of course i didn’t mind but you know what i mean)

With all that crazy $hit that have happened to this show, they’ve could have found a way to bring her back…I mean yeah sure she could be the judge for Clarke as she was her biggest love,teacher and failure(my pov that she was all three for her)but at the ending scene at the river side she should have been there with the rest of them.. And all that Lexa mentions after her death throughout the rest of the seasons…Come on that guy was taunting the fans..

@@chrislin81 that's what I think too. It wouldn't have been that hard to give the fans a little something.

Ryan989 Yes it is considering they made Clarke fall in love with a girl and used that relationship as a stepping stone to make Bellarke (a hetero ship) happen. This is coming from a bisexual person.

how come Lexas death is considered a “mistake” and “unfair” ..how about Finn’s death..Lincolns?...why is it more important to justify her death just because she is lesbian...it pisses me off..its a show..people die all the time on this show..just because it was a diverse relationship doesnt mean it deserves all this talking and justifying from Jason..sorry but im over it

No, Eliza wasn't about to cry.. no- they don't look awkward. I'm glad that they killed Lexa to be honest - I never liked her character. She actually kind of deserved it after she betrayed Clarke last season.. or did you all forget about that. Anya was way more appealing and she was killed just as absurdly BUT NO ONE GAVE A DAMN. So stop sobbing and move on...

***** There's still hope for him.. he was kinda responsible for Lincoln's death though.. the actual person I'd love to watch die is Pike.. he's irrationally making stupid decisions that can get everyone freaking killed...

***** Yep.. a great season finale would be his death. I understand that he thinks he's doing this for his people but he has no idea what the consequences of his foolish actions will be. We also have the Allie plot which will be developing further in the next ep.. come on, the show is DOPE, and people say it hit rock bottom.

Because she wasn't an openly gay character with whom we could relate to and love because her sexuality wasn't shoved down our throats and she was badass. Her relationship with Clarke wasn't forced and she took responsibility of her actions, actions she had to do for her people. Bellamy has been a major jerk since day one and I don't see him getting killed by a stray bullet.
