4 жыл бұрынI turn a segmented bowl full of stars. The feature ring has 8 stars in it. The bowl is made from American Walnut Peruvian Walnut and Maple. The bowl is finished using Minwax Wipe on Poly.

Thank you so much Phil. And I have this beautiful piece of Sycamore I want to turn but I went and started a BUNCH of glue up jobs and I just want to get them finished. But next week will not be segments. I have my multi-axis turning done...YEE HA! We had the essentials delivered today...Bacon Bits, peanut butter filled pretzels, Costco rotisserie chicken and Toilet Paper. So set for a while. Thank you for your wonderful comments my friend! Getting all those pieces cut correctly so that they fit together so perfectly is just amazing. I don't think I could do it once let alone 6 or 8 times! The result is simply beautiful!!

I’m so jealous Gary.. you make things look so easy and I know it’s time consuming & hard work. U have to really enjoy it because it takes a lot of time. I love the pattern of this bowl. What a lovely bowl! Your video is such an immediately understood example of the uses of basic math and geometry. I hope kids see this and go, AHA! That's what it's good for! I mean, math makes up everything we touch--as does design, for that matter. This is just a lovely reason to use it. (This from a vintage mechanical engineer. ;))

Thank you Nan, I have always loved math especially geometry since I was a kid. As a "vintage" wood pattern maker I used it every day and still use it since I retired. And I worked hand in hand with many mechanical engineers. Thanks for watching, Gary
