Building the Ultimate Single Garage Workshop requires out-of-the-box thinking. Multi-functional organization and storage is how I hope to achieve this goal.
I considered an alternative storage method for spray paint and chemical cans in this video. Quick and unrestricted access to the stored cans was my focus with this design, so I went for a non-conventional storage approach.

With a little modification, this design could use corner space. To me, corner space is usually a problem because of the limits on accessing it. A paint carousel in the corner sounds like a win-win.

Genius. I love that it is hanging on a French cleat. If you live in a colder climate ( and have an unheated workshop) you can easily move the whole unit inside to keep warm.

Or if you live in a very Hot area (Think Arizona) and have an uncooled space you can take it inside to keep it cool. Believe me overheated spray cans can and do Explode if you try to shake them. Don't ask how I know that.😀

Love the project! I happen to be blessed with a huge shop space in my basement. Nevertheless, Boyle's law of gasses implies stuff will expand to occupy whatever space is available. Thus storage projects like this one are immensely important to preserve maximum working space for furniture pieces, doors etc. Gonna get the plans for sure. Thanks

Wonderful idea and tutorial! I can see one alteration to help keep dust out: 1. Make the top & bottom plates without the hand cutouts. 2. Mount a piano hinge from top to bottom on one side or the other of the front access. 3. Mount a plexiglass or thin plywood/hardboard door with handle to the hinge.

You only need a single hole, not 4 for connecting the 2nd side of the “Lazy Susan”. Just rotate after putting in a screw to be able to put the next screw in.

Brilliant! Never overdone. This design will keep the dust and debre out for the most part with maybe an annual vacuuming. I also have a tiny,10' x 16' shop and this design has a very small footprint. My only issue which only applies to those who experience winter and do not keep their shops heated when not in there. I would have to remove the unit as I do with glues and bring them inside a heated space. My shop is has its own 200amp service, fully insulated and takes less than 30 minutes on a below freezing day, to get the temp up to 60 which for me is perfect. That is with one space heater. With the mini Woodstock it will get hot in 30 minutes and only use it on very cold days

There is a slightly less complicated way to put the Lazy Susan bearing in place. You mark out the 90 degrees lines as you did, then a circle passing thru the place where the screws will go. On ONE piece drill a larger hole that your screw driver will easily fit thru on the circle offset 45 degrees from the rest of the places the screws are going to go. Now screw the Lazy Susan to the piece with the extra hole - regular wood screws, countersunk or pan head, not bolts with nuts and washers. Turn that assembly over and rotate the bearing so you can see an empty hole in the Lazy Susan thru the larger hole, place the assembly so the empty hole lines up with the mark for the screw, fix the screw in place thru the hole, rotate and repeat for the remaining 3 screws. No nuts to come loose with this method. I've seen this as the 'normal' way to install a Lazy Susan in publications like Fine Woodworking, Woodsmith/Shop Notes and Popular Woodworking as well as numerous DIY books.

A more space/volume efficient method would be a series of vertical pantry pullout drawers one can width plus a bit wide, maybe 4 cans deep, 3 or 4 cans high depending on need. You could add pullouts as req'd. Would need solid full extension slides above & below, probably flatwise mount type would be best. You'd get 36 cans in about the same volume as the rotating version here
