Woodturning-Once Turned Green, Cherry Bowl.

Hey what's up friends!? I love turning cherry, it just looks good, smells great and is just a enjoyable woodturning experience. I like once turned bowls. I like to see them warp and shift and gain a more organic look. The lathe is acting up and really bugging me and setting me off. Oh well, still had a good time. Used primarily a 40/40 grind and push cuts, spindle gouge for tenon and bottom of the bowl. Still using Cole jaws.

I like the fact that you do talk. Mic or voice over, either way. I won't watch channels that don't narrate. Great project.

Thanks friend, I really appreciate it and glad I'm not the only one who isn't a fan of the silent ones. Alot of them are visually and technically good, just kind of dry and boring though.

The new Protek 50mm jaws do have a true dovetail, but yeah that's an accurate way to use the standard 50mm jaws.

That's good to know. I'm now considering getting a set of the Protek 50s so I can form all my tenons as dovetails. Thanks I appreciate that tip.

@@Daca023 I actually work for Striatech/Teknatool and did the design work on the Protek with Jeff Hornung. What was the grub screw mention I heard? Maybe I can help with that too

@@richdbolducthat's cool man to be able to work on cool projects with people like that. The issue is the grub and set screw on the motor pulley keep working loose. This is letting the pulley walk around on the shaft and make noise and rub the belt. I just got a email from Rikon this morning and they are shipping a new pulley and screw set. It seems like a solid design with the double jam screw design but I'm still wondering what's causing them to both back out?

@@Daca023 Ahhh ok. Not our machine. What we do on our machines though is put in a 2nd one behind the locking one. This seems to help with ours. Same principal as putting 2 nuts on a bolt to act as a lock nut.
