Known to be one of the earliest works in Italian literature, “The Canticle of Creatures” is St. Francis of Assisi’s hymn of praise to God. Written with the whole of creation in mind, “The Canticle of Creatures” challenges us to recognize the beauty of God’s creation.

That was really beautiful and genuinely interesting. I'm not Christian but would still be fascinated to learn about more of the Saints. Perhaps Word on Fire could do a whole series.

They have! It’s called Pivotal Players, and they continue to make episodes even now. Highly recommend. They have an episode that delves even more deeply into the life of St. Francis and other Saints and other influential people of the Church (including some historically famous authors).
