I don't see how though. Getting the rook to c5 can allow him to check and pick up the white knight by going to d5 later. Also pawn on e2 is under attack. Anyways Antonio's reasoning of both rooks getting forked didn't add up so I wrote the comment. ✌

Fischer was a great player,possibly the greatest and certainly the best of his generation. Given that so many more games have been played now and the top players have Engines/Computers to calculate variations that have been played.I can only imagine what rating he would achieve today. At the time(1971) Fischer was rated over 2800 without all of this and I can only imagine games versus either Kasparov or Magnus now.Think of him with all of that assistance and talent what he could have achieved today.

It does lose material, Naka saw it of course :) after e4 white threatens Nf5+ then picking up bishop with rook and moving king to get out of the check doesnt help because nf5 comes anyway thretening both rh5 and rh7 forcing king to the back file and that variation loses material just to prevent the checkmate

@@Anathemata u mean after e4 right? If black loses an exchange which he does in all variations then the game is definitely lost. E4 threatens Nf5 by supporting the knight. If u move the king there's more forks to face so nb7 is also an idea trapping a rook.
@faznaz7455
@faznaz7455 5 жыл бұрын
@@Anathemata so the king has to worry about back rank checks, the bishop is threatened and moving the king would set up knight forks or the rook being trapped and being forced to give up the exchange. in the final position i wonder what would happen if nakamura decided to play the attacked rook ? Lets say rook from c8 to c5.. Seems the bishop is defended, pawns are defended and there arent any checks. . Knight takes on c4 could be even good for black because after a check you actively defend the rook on e5 and with bishop maybe even pick up the knight.. Didnt use the engine so maybe there are some tricks but the material seems kinda equal although black seems to have an extra pawn, if he can protect the e2 or maybe take c4.
