And for more context about how crazy the arrivals were on that Sunday, here's a link to an article about it:
aviationweek.com/business-avia...
And some additional context regarding that visualization from Philip at FlightAware:
The data here is combination of (high-quality) ADS-B data and (low-quality) MLAT data from Mode S aircraft. Of the unique tails depicted here, there are 247 ADS-B aircraft and 106 Mode S aircraft.
As we discussed via email, my high guess for ADS-B equipage in the GA fleet is maybe 16% - applying that assumption to the ADS-B/MLAT split in the data would indicate that I'm probably showing 23% of the traffic. If we guess higher and go with 20% equipage, then I'd be showing about 29% of the aircraft.
So overall, I'd say that absolute best case, we're seeing 30% of all the arrivals in this video. Which is still pretty impressive (and/or daunting) to think about.

FLIGHT CHOPS DISCLAIMER:
I am a "weekend warrior" private pilot, I fly for fun with no intentions of going commercial. I have had my PPL for over 15 years, but still consider each flight a learning experience - I generally take detailed notes after each flight to remind myself what went well or what I could do to improve.... Having the GoPro cameras to record flights like this is invaluable. I find these self analysis videos very helpful in my constant quest to improve, and am happy to share. Feedback is invited; however, please keep it positive.

SPONSORS! As an Army Blackhawk pilot, these two gents need a Netflix series stat… Awesome videos! Professional pilots teaching aviation in the most informative, encouraging, and entertaining ways possible. These two channels have without a doubt kick started numerous student pilots and revamped stalled or discouraged students. Cheers, gents.

"You find that your hands and your feet are manipulating the controls without your mind telling them what to do." While I am a "Starch Wing Pilot", I discovered a very similar experience flying an airplane again after a 17 year hiatus from the cockpit. I thought that I might have to relearn the hand/eye coordination after being away for so long, however, even having to deal with crosswind correction on takeoff and the mechanical turbulence in the pattern, it was almost like my body was telling my conscience, "Hey Steve don't worry, we've got this, you just sit back and enjoy yourself." It may have been 17 years but the hands and the feet still remembered what to do...

Best thing about this channel/content...I just finally got caught up to most previous episode, and now I find myself going back to previous episodes which I had questions about the why's of certain things. Now, I'm picking up even more....more importantly it's "Clicking"!!!!! This U.S. Army Infantry Veteran loves to see the Challenge, The Process, Then Sharing Lessons Learned!! That's the Magic Sauce of Teaching the next Generation the Values, and so on.

It's a bit humbling to see all the KZfaq personalities enjoying the time at Oshkosh & the marvels Wisconsin has to offer. I moved to Augusta, GA last year but I've been flying in Southeastern for Wisconsin since highschool & I definitely take it for granted sometime. I even had the pleasure of doing the majority of my training at Wittman. Unfortunately this has been the first year I've missed Airventure in about 12 years. Hopefully I'll catch a break from instructing & charter to go for a few days next year. Keep up the great productions. It would be interesting to see you at the controls of a rotary.

We also both flew on planet earth :P but in all seriousness, we co-ordianted with the Coast Guard together, and Steveo even borrowed my audio adapter (and got better results :) We tell stories from very different perspectives - and if you watched my video to the end, you'll see that I cross link to his Coast Guard video, which is more "real time" than this one - I am covering the Fisk arrival here as a broad story - the Coast Guard portion is sprinkled in for context.
