Man nobody reads NOTAMs these days. I may or may not have seen a plane land twice into an airfield that was shutdown while we were launching amateur rockets. Like we could have punched a hole in your plane with a 500mph projectile dude, hence us having the FAA waiver and NOTAM called in.

That was amazing. That stunt of flying the line up to the top was so sketchy, hard to overstate how easily he could have crashed if the rope caught on something at the wrong time. Glad it all worked out!

99% of what I watch on this channel I'm like there's no way in hell I'd ever attempt that, but this looks fun enough that I'm changing my no way in hell to a mere probably wouldn't.

Incredible Video, great so see what skilled idividuals with teamwork and dedication can achieve together. I have on question, how do you handle the pulley after you jump of the zipline? Since I could not see a system to retrive the pulley from the millde of the zipline, did you just leave it there and use a new pulley for every jump?
@HowNOT2
@HowNOT2 10 ай бұрын
1 pulley per person. We had to have a LOT of pulleys and then when we cut it down we collect them all. They get stuck at the dyneema/rope transition.

You should have reported the helicopter. Not reading NOTAMs means he doesn't often look at his pre flight information bulletin. Nowadays with several apps for that, there is no excuse. Especially if he is operating commercially under FAR 135.

I wonder if it´d be worth it for the lifespan of the material you´re using to keep your prepared zipline pulleys in a cooler until you use them. Or is there anyone making some super high performance zipline pulleys that won´t heat up as much?
@HowNOT2
@HowNOT2 10 ай бұрын
Freezing them before we start wouldn't help I don't think. Better pulleys definitely would help though.

@@HowNOT2seemed like it was only an issue when they had prolonged contact after coming to rest. Could you splice in a length of technora at the end to protect against them melting through the line?
