The tractor w/Rhino flexwing TS12 is great for roadside and field mowing but the swing blades should be field sharp. The deck or blades should be set at 3". Only eyeing the deck on the road is set to 6". If you want to cut down on the dust mount water tank, for a sprayer on the end of the mower. My retirement job has this setup...

Just a tip for everyone on the homestead...NEVER EVER STAND BEHIND THE MOWER. Those blades can throw stuff through even the chain guard that's on there. I've seen people get seriously injured from rocks being thrown buy mowers. Not to be a safety sally but I couldn't help but notice Cody standing right behind the mower while Brian started it up

Story Time: 100% agree. I made that mistake on the Kubota with Brush Hog on our property and got hit with a rock that came out at 500MPH about the size of a golf ball and it hit me right in the meat of the thigh. Split the skin under my jeans and i had a black and blue mark about 8in in diameter for about 6 months. Last time ill ever do that.

When I was painting my house I found a rock embedded in the siding. The only way it could have gotten there is being thrown from the mower on an adjacent slope. I've been a mower Safety Sally ever since.

When I was a young man (12 yrs old) I would mow and rake my neighbors lawns to make a little spending money. I started with an old-fashioned push-mower. Pushing it made the horizontal rotary blades cut the grass. It was people-powered. Very early onj in my lawn-care career I made enough money to buy a Briggs and Stratton power mower. Man, things sure have changed since then LOL. Great video. Thank you for sharing it.

I just purchased a six foot rotary mower for my little Kubota. I've got about 22 acres of fields to mow. Had I a bigger tractor, I'd sure get one of those double wide mowers!

That thing can mow. Glad you got the help. Look forward to more. Reading the comments I realized the safety concerns with this mower. A lawn mower with 3-5 hp. has a blade tip speed of 200 mph. My brother hit a brass nut off the top of the fire hydrant. He didn't get hit, but that was end of the mower. Bent the crankshaft.

Is there a reason you don't run Livestock in that paddock? You wouldn't have to slash it and you would generate an income. If you not a livestock person you could lease it for the season to someone who is. More money for your video's and hobbies.

Rhino looks to be more then a bit professional, and helpful to the max. No wonder they have the quality name they do, they are seriously customer friendly and what you and Brian have learned just make the equipment all that much more useful. Loved the pasture trimming, it looks like you have a handle on the mowing, and can reduce fire hazard in a hurry. I like the videos of the equipment in use, it shows what it can do for your homestead in a big way!

That drone footage at the end almost made the tractor look like a little toy rolling across the grass, must have been the angle. Looks like that will save a load of time mowing all that grass.

Good video, it appears it is a Rhino ts12 Stealth. My question is, is this considered a light duty or medium duty cutter? I looked at the blade carrier assembly and I am curious as if that is a "stump jumper" type design or what happens when hard objects are encountered?

Really like that mower Cody, We have a 15' Flex Wing Bush Hog we use for our CRP grassland and we love it. Makes really short work of 80 acres.

Keep at least 1, preferably 2, water extinguishers on the tractor. Hitting a rock or piece of steel can start a fire quickly. I am sure as a fire fighter you know this already. Here in Texas its common where I live.

The interaction was probably better being that you guys are more or less, normal guys, don't feel ashamed that you messed up, everyone is just a normal human being, there are plenty of people in seemingly expert positions that make the simplest mistakes, it happens, what makes the difference is being kind and asking for help when you need it.

Seems as though baling would enable some livestock to enjoy healthy fodder. It seems as though there would be an equitable barter exchange rate of hay to milk or cheese.

Not that I'm an expert. I'm certainly not. But until Cody came up with a Yanmar, I had never heard of them. Now I think they are very impressive. And now the same exact thing with Rhino. And good service! (Good customer service is not a common thing anymore.)

With that much acreage to cut I'd think you would do better by ailing it instead of cutting and chopping it up. There is always some farmer or rancher that needs bales of Haywood feed his livestock. Just remember while you may have a good growing season there are ranchers or farmers who due to weather or storm damage or just a bad growing season still needs to feed his stock so if he can't grow it he has to buy or barter for it. If you start bailing hay you can stack and store it in a barn or in a stack covered by a tarp to keep it dry. Might be interesting to send outa shout on KZfaq to see what demand there would be? Nice mower but if the property were mine I'd bail it for sale or trade with another farmer or rancher.
