Marshall gets his hands on a neo-vintage classic, an Oris Big Crown Pointer Date from the 1990's! This is Oris's most iconic model, and it shows what some mechanical creativity can bring to the most widely-used movement in Swiss watchmaking, the ETA 2824-2. Enjoy this service and restoration!

Want to add support to this line of commentary. Have tried watching other channels with a similar intent and this one is hands down the one I enjoy the most. No histrionics, love the way the process unfolds and is covered in a similar manner from watch to watch, the voice over is done really well. Well done, please keep it up. My only suggestion would be do more d*** videos 😛

Cool to see you do an Oris. I live about twenty minutes away and drive by their factory at least once a week. I alway think how cool it would be to see you fixing an Oris and here you are. They are also one of the few makers that still develop own movements besides using ETA's.

I’m not a fan of wearing a date watch myself but the way that Oris designed that is super creative. Keeps the size down, doesn’t add a ton of complication to the movement they also use for all the rest of their line. A smart and stylish solution.

@@4kleidisc I own over 25 watches, zero automatics and I don’t always get to winding them every day. It’s just based on it not fitting into how I use the watch. TBF I didn’t wear a watch till my 30’s so my experience of using a watch probably isn’t like everyone else’s.

I enjoy watching you work, as well as listen to your commentary! I learn so much about watches, and I have learned to appreciate the many different complications they have. From one of a kind, hand made parts, to assembly line manufactured parts that replacement parts can drop in and work without having to be aligned or modified, is just hard to believe they can be so small, yet so precise! Having the ability to replace the pallet fork with a new one as you did is a miracle of modern machinery! Thanks for taking the time to show us the process of 'servicing' and repairing such tiny little mechanical computers we all take for granted!

I have just discovered this gentleman and his watch repair. He obviously enjoys the challenge and detail of repairing watches to the best possible condition. He is a great example of a person following his bliss. Joseph Campbell, a philosopher and theologian of the last century recommended that we all, in finding our life's work, do what we really enjoy. Marshall is obviously doing just that. Congratulations!
