Thank you for the video. Is the schedule a lesson a day? If so, how long does it typically take you to complete a lesson?

Hi! The book it’s divided by units 1-4 and those units are divided by lessons. Example : unit 1 which is making an outline the first Lesson 1 : Construction , you will do it by the book in 3 days . Lesson2: Roads you will do in 3 days ( all of that is for the same unit 1 ) but it’s divided by 3 days. Every time you start a unit in your teacher guide the one that comes with People and Places in our community will prompt you to go and look the teacher training for that unit . Do you feel like you need to do the Structure and Style Writing program before doing these kind?

I think that although for the first levels it may not seem necessary because the books are dedicated to children in elementary grade, the books have a degree of difficulty that although they can work with an older child. The IEW method of teaching writing is a very structured one that gradually teaches the child to write using a series of steps that is not the traditional way of teaching writing. I would also like to emphasize that although the People And Places In Our Community parent/teacher guide book has detailed instruction on how to introduce new concepts, the All Things Fun and Fascinating teacher guide is not the same. , then if you want to continue with the rest of the program at some point I find the instruction program for the teacher would be necessary. Hope this was helpful.

@@journalofahomeschooler Thank you! I have 3 kiddos and just don't think I can manage IEW with all 3. But Essentials in Writing is working for us right now. They can work more independently with it. I just really want them to have good writing skills!

As well I agree completely with Mr. Pudewa, when he express that going through the teacher program helps you understand and sympathize and know that it is not as easy as it looks and it is challenging enough to be able to use with an older child.

I might see it a little more difficult, but others might don’t see it that way it will depend on the person, I am dyslexic so I think that makes it a little bit more difficult for me.
