In our latest WTF series, we take a look at some of our favorite stars and filmmakers who have seemingly disappeared or altered their careers over the years to the point that begs the question; WTF happened? Now, before you think we're just picking on celebrities or running some gossip rag stuff, think again! We take a fun (and sometimes funny), researched and fair approach, looking at all angles that led our subject to wherever they are now (which isn't necessarily a bad place at all). If anything, it answers the question on where these fine folks went, how they got there and where you can find 'em now.
You knew he was inevitable for this series and we've finally gotten to the legend that is Johnny Depp for the WTF series. The once fresh-faced lad from 21 Jump Street has come a long way since his Teen Beat days, finding a unique partnership with director Tim Burton on films like Edward Scissorhands, Sleepy Hollow, Ed Wood and beyond, as well as venturing into some dark twisted territory for such hits as From Hell, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas and The Ninth Gate. Depp has played gangsters and drug dealers in films like Donnie Brasco, Blow and Black Mass, has waved his wand as an evil wizard in the Fantastic Beasts series, lent his voice to animated features like Corpse Bride and Rango, but perhaps his greatest and most memorable role of his career has no doubt been as the bumbling, yet heroic anti-hero known as Jack Sparrow in the Pirates of the Caribbean series. However, they haven't all been hits and Depp's career and personal life have suffered many ups and downs. But, with so much talent to spare, nothing can keep Depp down for good and he continues to reinvent himself every few years to show why we love him so much. And that's WTF happened to Johnny Depp!

His financial advisors were actually using Johnny’s money as their own personal bank. Loaning it out, pocketing the interest…just one example of MAJOR things they did. He settled for a speculated 10million. For financial advisors to settle for that much (because had they gone to trial they would have lost in a much much bigger way) is unheard of. He wasn’t just overspending . That’s all you got to hear in the recent trial but it wasn’t the whole story at all.

Johnny Depp is one of the most underrated and brilliant actors of our time. I have such guilt for getting sucked into the media circus with AH's accusations. Something always seemed off and they the implications never sat well with me. In watching the trial it was clear as to why. Lies!! It is so disheartening to realize how callous and low, anyone would go to push their own agenda. Using a movement that had so much support and power behind it. So many true victims DV and SA survivors in the world. Perhaps Johnny will join the movement to show that men are and can be victims too. He would have my support all day long. Anyone in the movement who continue to support the wrong side should take a step back and take a hard look at facts. I cried when they read the verdict and am so happy his truth was shared with the world. NOW THAT WAS EMPOWERMENT!! What a quiet strength that man possesses. I am and forever remain, a very respectful fan. For Johnny's talent and brilliance. His taste and ability to persevere through such tragedy. This experience will only enrich him as a person and my hope is that he channels this into his craft, gifting us with even more of his magic and light. Shine on Johhny. He is truly one of the greats. So happy he can move forward now. Much love and respect from Alaska-- Danielle

@@nikvalentincic9764 Makeup. Her makeup artist loaded her face with makeup. She even testified that there were marks on her face she had to cover up. I haven’t noticed her changing her story except correcting dates. Although when you are going back years, you would get details confused. Bottom line, there are witnesses to the aftermath, and a witness to the actual violence. There are corroborating texts, photo evidence, him admitting to it on the audio, and he has a history of getting violent when intoxicated and having this explosive temper. He hit rock bottom I think. I think there is good in Johnny but the drugs and alcohol bring out the worst in him. I think Amber clearly has a temper too but listening to the audios you can tell she tried VERY hard to save her marriage. Her friends said she used to make excuses for him. The sister even said she asked Johnny about it and he said ‘he just loves her so much, it makes him crazy’. You can tell he is jealous and flies in rages because look at when he wrote all over the mirror with his bloody finger. He was calling her a slut and saying things about her and Billy Bob Thornton. That’s where his mind was at. They talk about his temper and his jealousy in the audios. They talk about the monster. Amber asks how does she get through to him when he’s in that state and he said ‘tell me, please babe. Don’t let the monster out’. He also asked her to write letters in the morning saying ‘please don’t hurt me today’. He also begged her to cut him with a knife and threatened to do it himself if she wouldn’t. Johnny has issues. He needs help. As much as everyone wants to blame Amber, if Johnny doesn’t stop, he’s going to end up overdosing or committing suicide. With his fans ignoring his addiction and mental health issues in order to make him seem less guilty, he isn’t feeling the repercussions of his actions. Nobody is telling him the truth. Amber told him the truth. He didn’t always like it. She wanted him to get clean. He didn’t want to. Of course it ended in disaster. Addiction always does.

I think life changed when he fell for Amber and his Mom was dealing with failing health. Losing your Mom and realizing you married volatile Amber and made a mistake - well that would change anyone! I mean, I've seen the other cuts with him in it and it's not as great as he is making it out here. It's decently acted but pads the run time and doesn't add anything new, he gets high, he translates some Vietnamese poorly and he gets shot, nothing amazing. He in no way out performs the two real stars, which were Defoe and Berenger. Sheen is the conduit that the audience experiences the hell of war through, and he does a great job by seeming genuine.

He, like myself, as we are both Heyoka Empaths ages backward, and once he can move on to healing and recovery from Narcissistic Abuse Syndrome, and AH, his outward beauty will return. He will once again become healthy, happy, and smoking hot, once he has reached happiness again. I know this because when I'm happy, I look and feel amazing, and when I've been beaten down to within an inch of my own insanity, and my very life, it kinda ages us and wears on our souls.

Johnny NEEDS to win this case. It's obviously not about the money, he wants to clear his name/reputation. If they declare a mistrial or he doesn't win, I worry about what he may do. He's lost everything and given that low-life whatever she wanted. I'm sure she spent his money like a drunken sailor. I'm hoping like so many others, that he wins this case and she is blacklisted, because she would be if things don't go in her favor. You can "never" predict what a jury will decide.

I hope this changes the way our courts go about men being falsely accused. I was accused of domestic violence and she went and said I choked her, pulled her hair and kicked her and punched her. The courts believes her and I was sent to jail. There was absolutely no evidence because I don’t hit women and the only way I was able to prove I didn’t hit her was with my job clock ins. I was at work 2 hours away when she said I was beating her. I work 10 hour days and that was the only way I cleared my name. I spent months in jail and in the end, nothing was done to her. Something needs to be done. Unfortunately I didn’t have the money or the connections like Johnny does to be able to have a good lawyer. The one thing that hurt me the most is my family and friends still have doubts even after proving I was at work. She ruined my life and all because she was cheating on me, I later found out. I just hope something changes to prevent this from happening to other men.

Sal, I'm sorry this happened to you. This makes me sick to watch. I went through two abusive marriages and I took it for over a year with my first husband. He would hit me in the head all the while telling me he was smart enough to not leave visible marks for me to run and tell on him. He pushed me all the way down a hallway and over into a playpen (luckily our son wasn't in it at the time) while I was 6 months pregnant with our second child. The day he slammed me into a wall, while holding our one year old daughter, and my head left a dent in the sheetrock I woke up. What if it had been our daughter's head? It could have seriously injured or killed her. He let his anger overrule his care of her. Then I went to the police. The second husband wasn't an alcoholic or drug abuser, in the church every time the doors were open, Mr. Mom changing his baby's fingers, cooking, cleaning, Mr. Wonderful. Less than two months into the marriage I found myself being accused of cheating with every man I crossed paths with from co-workers, the mailman, our pastor, and our 80 year old neighbor. His abuse left marks on me head to toe, being choked til nearly passing out in front of his kids and mine. I was just bumfuzzled, in awe of landing myself in the midst of this Dr. Jekyl/Mr. Hyde scenario. I would never cheat because I had endured by more than one man. I would never do such. His abuse turned towards my young children and that was it. Game over. I didn't call the police. I packed everything that personally belonged to the kids and me and was gone in one day of him at work. He left my face black and blue three times it's normal size. I've never seen such abuse nor did I want anyone to see me that way. I didn't take pictures and family members and coworkers wanted to but I said no because I didn't want to document my stupidity in falling for him and his deception. Why did I not see the red flags, two of them, before I married him? He hounded me for months to go on a date with him. It was 5-6 months before I gave in. I had to go through that hell on earth to learn I deserved better. No one should be treated the way I was. Not even the abusers. Let God deal with them is my standpoint. I just got away from them. In a small town there were whispers about me. I was not stupid. It was unbearable sending me into a world of isolation outside of work and family. You can't get your reputation back fully after such a situation. I have had to live with God knowing the truth. In the end that is all that matters. I wish you peace of blessings.

She will be forever "AmberTurd" Personally I don't think that should have ever come out in court. So nasty and shameful. Some things are just off limits. But then.....she should not have done such a thing.

@John Stroud From what Jerry Bruckheimer said about him returning for the next movie, it sounds like more than a cameo. Jerry Bruckheimer said “The one we’re developing right now, we’re not sure quite what Johnny’s role is going to be, so we’ll have to see”. The way he said that leads me to be under the impression that Johnny is going to be in it, but they are not sure if he’s going to have the main role or a supporting role.
