I enjoyed it more when they focused on specific rivalries and different era's. Like you said, ever since they started focusing on an individual Superstar the mode has gradually been getting worse and worse. Here's hoping next year we'll see "40 Years of Wrestlemania".

Exactly how I felt playing Rey Mysterio's Showcase. Pisses me off even more that Kurt Angle wasn't in 2K22 but they're able to get him the very next year for Cena's? That pissed me off.

I agree man. I'm a hardcore WWE fan and I absolutely felt this game mode was a chore when back in games in 2K14/15/16 I genuinely loved the Showcases. Here's to hoping for better times with 2K24 Showcase, right?

Yea and its not just the showcase mode that falls flat either, I didnt like the my faction in last year's game and I certainly don't like it in this year's game either, even the mode I play the most in these games is not what I was expecting when I finally downloaded the game (my rise). Like I spent $82 (was $140) AUD for this and this is what I get? Its a bloody travesty, id say its as bad if not worse than the 2020 game was in its current state.

The thing is, the rest of the game is actually really well done in my opinion. It’s just this mode in particular I feel they’ve really dropped the ball on.

The lack of commentary is very apparent when the cutscenes start playing. In my personal opinion I felt when they used the in game engine to recreate the moments was a more engaging way to tell the matches story.

Thats the problem though, its supposed to be a showcase of the individual and John cwna has had probably the best wins in the business but did we get to see any of them at all? Well idk because I havent finished it yet but so far its all been losses and that is no way to showcase one of the best wrestlers of all time, its a bloody travesty I say.

I actually like the scene transitions to real footage, I would of loved to of seen the real footage used in the older games showcase modes instead of them using in game models, I feel like it really makes u feel like u are actually there although I do agree that it was better done in 2k22 with Red Mysterio commenting over those parts of the cutscene.

oh ive played through almost all of his matches (i think) but even still i didn't want any spoilers b4 i bought the game because i wanted to be surprised, i had no idea how it was going to play out, i assumed it was going to be like 2k22's showcase which was really good but what we got was fucking terrible (at least what i have played), u play as his opponents which i dont mind that much because it lets u get a feel for different playstyles but each and every one of the matches i have played so far have been losses for John Cena and that just isn't what a Showcase of his talents should be, how are u supposed to showcase his talents from losses alone its just madness i mean u dont even play as the character that is being showcased which is even more stupid imo now if u do eventually get to play as John Cena that lessens the stupidity but i would of liked to of seen at least a mix of both wins and losses throughot the showcase and not mostly losses (if there is any wins at all i would be surprised at this point). honestly the showcase mode in 23 is fucking terrible which is a shame because John Cena is probably my 2nd favourite Wrestler behind The Undertaker and this just doesn't showcase his career in a good way in the slightest imo, it makes him look like some chump that never wins despite him being a 16 time world champion (which is a record amount btw) and a 5 time United States Champion too (also a record at least in the WWE alone, Rick Flair has 6) with 2 different belts that he created being the United states and WWE spinner titles, he deserved a much better showcase than what he got.

That actually has an excuse, WWE doesn't own the term "Rated R Superstar" anymore so that's why his logo looked bad. The more ATROCIOUS wrong detail is AJ Styles GLOVE DESIGN BEING HIS 2022 ONES INSTEAD OF HIS 2016 PAIR WHEN THEY WERE ALREADY IN THE GAME'S CREATION SUITE BECAUSE OF 2K17's AJ STYLES. That has ZERO EXCUSES.

@@ZZ-rc1yw Yeah, I love how I tapped out in 2 seconds to a normal arm submission when I had ZERO arm damage. That was VERY good. As well as the several times my opponent or I Stunned the other and hit several moves/finishers in a row. It's VERY good when you get to just put your controller down for 15 seconds cause you literally can't do nothing during that time your Stunned.

Absolutely, this game is a blast.

Wasn't boring when they were fully animated, now they are because it's literally the OG match, but without commentary and the Refs faces were always censored.

Yeah...and that game DIDN'T HAVE SHOWCASE MODE NOR 20 YEAR ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY THAT 2K23 HAS.

In concept it's great, in execution IT'S THE LAZIEST AND THE WORST.

I certainly don't, what kind of showcase only shows his losses, that's a terrible way to showcase his greatness.

The rest of the game is still very enjoyable, just this specific mode is quite the dud.

HOW has it annoyed you the LEAST? It is BLATANTLY obvious they didn't give a flying FUCK when making this mode.

@@kennythetrend3688 Mainly because there was variance in who you play as instead of 10 different variations of wrestler x, that are pretty much identical. Plus, I don't like the showcase concept at all and this one could be completed fast and easy.
