Quick look at a pillbox I discovered while on walk to Belas Knap Long barrow..

This reminds me of my school days and having a smoke in the old air raid shelter which backed onto the playground. ⛺️

Ha ha.. Yes a dead cat 1.99 from china over my lapel mic that's connected to an Zoom H1.. First day out with it.. Makes a big difference, was going to vlog it..

There use to be a lot of old air raid shelters about too.. I wasn't going to put this up.. I need practice at this.. still it was an unexpected find.. Cheers Mike..

Dang kids been in it drinking. Reminds me of the time they lost a tank at one of the bases here. They literally never found it. No one had any idea what happened to it. Just was not there one day.

They are everywhere these bloody kids, I was always a good boy of course ;) How the hell does a bloody tank go missing, lol...

I figure it was a mess up in paper work and there was no tank to start with but who knows... As a child before I hit 13 I was kind of the devil. I was in trouble a lot. But after that I calmed right the hell down.

Since the germans didn't invade, was this used to shoot at the bombing airplanes ya think? Built as a precaution in case of invasion? Good find.

No George, we had gun placements for that.. This was to garrison road junctions and protect towns and city's, thousands were built, but never needed thankfully..

Nice find mate. A bit of our history for all to see and go in. Shame though it looks like it's been used by kids, drinking cheap cider and drug taking.
