Inside Swanbourne Station

The Ticket Office at Swanbourne Station has survived 50 years since its closure, opened 1851 this is an early wooden ticket office, unique and maybe the only one in the country, soon to be demolished by Network Rail to make way for the new East - West Link - Oxford to Cambridge.

My local abandoned station. It's a peaceful place currently frozen in time that needs to be saved. Thanks for sharing.

The remnants of an old system. You can hear the echoes of times gone by there's still so much of the story left to read. I found an amazing farm with a friend not so long back. Yea loved this. Very interesting to see inside as it tells more of a story. You can imagine people talking to the station master as they peer through the little window for their tickets. Shame about the hole in the roof. Just be preserved not knocked down. Shame...

Now as you know I always use Enya with my videos of old - Loved the video - What would have really picked up the ambiance to this video - would have been the inclusions of voices from within a period station you have visited ;)

Should be moved, not destroyed. Why not send it to a heritage railway that needs it (think what they did with Lyme Regis Railway Station)

Yes, of course, it should but unfortunately, no one seems to want it... the latest is one of the brothers who lives there has sadly died... How long it will now be before its pulled down I don't know... I was going to try and do an update video, but we now have this corona Virus to deal with...
