Last year, the government build new house of bricks and concrete for all the people in our province for free. And I heard that it’s the same situation all through China. I started hearing about him from a Chinese graduate student, back in the 20th Century. Basically that he was seen as honest and dedicated, lived in a cave and had a lot of books, appealed to academic people, and also had general appeal as someone who lived in poverty and wasn't corrupt. I didn't think so much of it until twenty years later I started to see him on Chinese television programs and now on KZfaq. It took awhile to remember that I had heard of him before! I suppose people don't say this now, but in old books about China they talk about "The Mandate of Heaven", it looks like he has it! Don't you think so?

I have to agree as an American i hate all forms of dictatorship. However, i live in reality and china today is well governed.

No adjective can smear the hard work of the Chinese people under a relatively fuctional government. Meritocracy at its best.

Communism were appealing because it is supposed to be centered amongst people with strict control over many matters. If course it does require a good leader to work it out. China has gone before good days of good emperors and good democratic leaders but there is space for potential influence to spark uprising. Hence the current system have a better chance of governance.

Freedom generates creativity and creative people who enjoy freedom, enjoy the prosperity that flows from it. Governments cannot legistate creativity and governments can only 'create' freedom, by means of restrictions to their powers. Unfortunately, not many governments want to restrict their own power. The Chinese have pulled themselves out of poverty because the CCP de-regulated and opened up (ie: they reduced their interventions). Now Winne the Pooh is claiming to have pulled 400 million out of poverty, while simultaneously pursuing absolutism and undoing the freedoms that created that prosperity in the first place. Look at the state of the Chinese economy today. He's only being successful at pulling people back into poverty - something governments can do effortlessly when they pursue absolute power. North Korea is a sad example and China isn't much different.

It should intervene especially in corporates, to hold the reigns and stop the state from being degenerative like US or UK, where the corporates puppet the government and send teenagers to fight for rich man's oil war. I wouldn't say inventing fruit loops instead of cerelac is creativity. The US itself prospered when government programs were strong enough to see beyond profit. You don't see but the US government in 60-70 was as strong as CPC today and hence it outwitted the Soviet union. Absolutism isn't where China is heading, the west is one with corporate absolutism and hence sees the Chinese government as too strong. CPC is outwitting the west today. See how the table is turning?

NK is a secure border that hasn’t got missiles pointing at China, I don’t know enough about NK, but what happens in NK now is very likely a consequence of what the US did in the Korean War. The Koreas are an interesting history topic if you’re willing to read all sides. Why should China put sanctions on NK ?, just because the west says so ?. Let’s put sanctions on every country that abuses human rights, the US, Australia, the UK. Israel.
