Xiaomi MiJia Robot Vacuum Mop 1C - How to Fix Abrupt Movement, Wheel Removal & Cleaning

This robot vacuum started having a problem. It starts up, move around a little and begins to jerk around abruptly. After a short while, it stops and says "please clean my right wheel".
In this process, I show the disassembly of the right wheel module and cleaning of crucial components to restore its function.
It was later found that WD40 was sprayed into the wheel area in an attempt to de-grease and clean it. WD40 is not a suitable product to clean electrical components as it may interfere with the conductivity of the contacts. Instead, it is best to use clean water or isoproyl alcohol or rubbing alcohol to clean the area, if it does become dirty.

Turned out mine had an alcohol wipe stuck inside her wheel carriage. No wonder she wasn't working! Cheers for the vid, you're an absolute legend =D

Thank you so much! It works! I didn't have the alcohol so I used Magiclean kitchen cleaner instead. When I didn't have the alcohol initially, I just wiped, it didn't work. Air dry also didn't work. It's also taxing to keep opening and closing the cover to test, so in the end, I just slot in the wheels to test and that works. Thank you so much for the video!

Hi Mr Fix It Uncle, did the problem re-surface for you? Mine keep coming back every other day.. The screeching sound (which was the reason I sprayed WD-40 initially) also came back.. arghh..

Hey man. Thanks for the video. Mine has the same issue. I did everything exactly as you showed. There were not any residue or anything. Yet it still doesn't work. Would it help to buy a new wheel?

Have mop P and on carpet this happens. On hard floor not so much. Cleaned and it worked for 10 minutes. Than again problem.

I just bought a new one and it says to look at the left wheel because it seems loaded but there's nothing to it! It was my first use! Maybe it's broken from factory?

If it is problematic when new, send it back if it is still under warranty.

Hey man. Mine has been accumulating dirt and hair under the rotating big mop at the center. The dirt just stays there instead of entering the device and going to the container. I have it for 3 months and I already sent it to maintenance but it came back the same way with them saying they found nothing wrong. Do you have perhaps any idea what could be wrong?

Your rotating brush or the vacuum motor might be stuck.

I followed but when i manually test to rotate the right wheel. it will still be stuck at some point. Any idea how to smoothen it?

You can try to update the firmware. It is more likely that the software determined that the motor is stuck when and stops the vacuuming. Hopefully, a newer firmware would solve this.

Lasse es eine Stunde im Behälter... Dann starte den sauger mit dem essig inhalt auf damit die Düsen auch gereinigt werden... Wische den Nassen boden mit der hand ab, damit die Säure den Boden nicht beschädigt... Leere den Inhalt und Fülle es mit bodenwaschnittel

I haven’t encountered this problem and won’t be able to demonstrate it. But there should be other videos on youtube that covers fixing this. All the best for your repair!

Unfortunately this doesn’t work for my vac. I even took apart the housing to check the gears for any issue.

If that is the case, this might mean you have further damage with the motor or the electrical components inside the wheel assembly. You might want to consider getting a replacement wheel assembly.

@@fuzzy34r actually i use alcohol solution on the metal circle at the wheel center. That seems to do the trick at least for now. I just need it to hold out until 12.12 sale lol

Have you tried cleaning the left wheel too? Apparently this model is a bit more finicky compared to other xiaomi vacuums. I can’t say for sure if replacing the new would work but if you managed to get yours working, do update!

Hi @Teh Sze Yee, could you fix it by replacing the wheel? Same here and nothing works, including firmware updates. I'm afraid to buy a wheel that might not work too as it really looks like a programmed obsolescence.. but if you did it and it works I would try too

try the mi home app, it has three settings for water speed. It may also be caused by hard water (lime buildup). You can try to fill the containers with lemon juice and leave for 24h to remove limescale. The recipient for mopping should also be filled with lemon juice if you can, or weak acid solution used to clean coffee makers or heating iron.

For the same problem I fill the tank with hot water from my shower, also rinse the hole area with hot water. Wash the mop and damp it with same hot water. Then from app use the most wet setting. It works for me.
