Thanks for this thorough video. I was experiencing the same issue with a Cloudlifter and a digital-audio interface. The Cloudlifter amplified the sound, but it also amplified the line noise, which I have to remove later with a filter. After watching your video I decided to order an Audioblast XLR cable ... I have very inexpensive cables that I bought from Amazon. I hope the Audioblaster will make a difference.

@@swhammondbuildsreviews I received the cable this week and there was a NOTICEABLE quieting in it. The electronic hum is almost gone. Right now I have my microphone cabled directly to my audio interface, and it sounds so much better. However, I use a dynamic mic, so I need the CloudLifter. And the cable that connects the CloudLifter is still a noisy $7.95 cable. So I ordered a second 3-foot Audioblaster cable that should arrive soon. Your video really helped me. That audio hum really ruined the sound quality of my podcasts, and removing it with Audacity was a pain, and the removal also altered the sound a little.

@@soundproofist Excellent news! I think your new little patch cable will solve your problems-it worked great for me. I have a similar setup: dynamic mic, 20 foot Audioblast XLR, Cloudlifter, 2 foot Audioblast XLR into the audio interface. Upgrading to all Audioblast quadstar cables made a tremendous difference for me. Glad the video helped make your recordings / life easier!

Thanks for the suggestion - it would be much more fair if I put the Audioblast up against a Canare or Mogami. One of these days...

At the moment, I can't give you a direct comparison. I've used Mogami in the past, and from what I remember, they both offer low noise and sound similar. Audioblast claims that their noise rejection is superior to Mogami-they made a video doing a demonstration between the two: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/pttkqK2Clte9fKs.html I do know that I'm happy with my Audioblast cables and they're significantly less expensive than Mogami. hey, i have a behringer umc22 audio interface with an akg p120 but I recieve too much noise, its like white noise/static noise , I've seen in youtube reviews of both mic and audio interface and they don't have that noise, my question is, does a good cable can help to reduce the static noise? or it's an audio interface problem? I already tried whit a dynamic mic and it has the same noise, what can i do?

If you're getting that much noise, it's probably a bigger issue than the subtle cable noise I'm speaking of in this video. You could have a bad cable entirely (loose internal connections), a ground loop issue, or an issue with your audio interface. Try a different cable -- if that doesn't solve it, probably an audio interface issue. Good luck!

Generally, that would mean that you have a loose connection somewhere and you would be required to find it, and re-solder it. This could be in the cable (typically where the jack is soldered to the cable) or in the audio interface. This could get quite complex if the problem is within the audio interface. Also, some audio interfaces have an external ground screw, allowing you to ground the device manually. Google / KZfaq ground loop issues - it's beyond how I can help you in a comment.
