Thanks mate! DOHC are very nice and smooth running. Love to put that same engine in a 67 Mustang fastback and have a big ole turbo attached. I love V8's but that Barra 4.0L Aussie six is bad to the bone I'd love to have one for a classic 67 Mustang fastback

+TAP92 The barra is an engine with good off the shelf performance, But if you save a bit and invest in better valve springs, more boost and or bigger turbo, decent injectors, you will break drive line components like pretzels haha. I used to own a mild xr6turbo, and It would shred a set of new tyres in about 15 seconds flat. had the Barra 270T engine. with about 12-15psi boost. I think the Taurus would be a little nicer in terms of smoothness being V6 and maybe top end speed but itd be nicer if it was a little beefier cc wise, But im assuming that the V6 with twin screws would be a lot more fun than the now boring falcon. The falcon straight 6 has a lot of torque and relatively cheap and easy to mod maintain and its a well designed engine suited for Australia, So on paper and reality it should well outlast the V6 SHO purely by its smart engineered form and long life expectancy design. Its a nice engine but nothing compares to some of the crate motors setups you can easily obtain in the states :) Especially if you add on forced induction

+BASRO5 My sentiments exactly, I have the F6310 with a few minor bolt ons and a tune running just shy of 350rwkW and all I have changed is diff bushes... When some has (hsv) in their screen name, either they are a troll or one really bad fucking driver to be breaking shit like pretzels with a 12-15 psi boost setting.

TheBASR05 Yes its on 98 and can probably get around the 400 mark on E85, but I may need to beef up the tailshaft and valve springs.. 348 is plenty enough for a daily driver... with a safe tune.

TheBASR05 Agree... by far the best motor produced in Australia to date. The high torque delivery down around 2,000 rpm is what makes this motor a beast. I find even with 348rwkW smash it into 2nd around 70-80k's and it will spin like mad without the traction control.. so I rarely turn it off.
