Just a wild guess, I would try to check the "Force early harvest box" when the field reaches over 90% growth. May be this will induce non-automatic harvesting just in time?

I have this problem too. Did you find a solution?

@@CodeZeeZ yes. Just delete any pastures you have built and sheepards will take the sheep to the fields that are not being used.

I focus on building your starter production buildings, storehouses, wood buildings, berry hut etc. don’t need the farmhouse first year honestly with enough berries collected

That's a good question. That may be happening to me, but I thought that they just couldn't harvest all of them in time. I'm not a big fan of too much unnecessary micro management

Basically this, It means if it is 17% fertility rate and red. Only 17% of the max yield can be grown there. If it would have grown 100 normally, now if you grew on it would only grow 17 crops max if everything goes perfect. Lots of times it doesnt and you get like 10-15.

Your idea is correct, just make sure you have the priority for the field set when you reassign so they take care of harvesting the certain fields first before planting others

assign a few families (best is all 8 so it happens really quickly) to the farmhouse. they will first plow the field and then plant the seeds when they are done plowing the field. when the whole field has been sown, u can unassign all the families from the farmhouse, because the crops are now growing and do not need attending. u do not need an ox to plow or sow the field, it is a waste of a point imo since a few families do it way quicker than 1 family and an ox.

@@apex1615first of all don’t know what you’re doing wrong and how your field priority is setup, but a family with an ox plows faster than 5 families together. Plus they can work together. Make many smaller fields rather than few gigantic if your oxen has difficulties in pathfinding, plowing your behemoths for fields Secondly a point in plowing is not a waste since oxen are not only used for plowing, but for faster crop moving as well once it’s harvested. And lastly a plowing point in farming region is definitely not a waste since there is a Fertilization perk locked out behind it which basically allows you to forget about the fallow years and crop rotation.

Yes no connection the the farming. You have to unlock the bee keeper skill first and then you can place your hives anywhere. I put mine near the Granary and market for efficiency.

So if it works like that maybe set aside a separate field for them to work on. I though they all worked in conjunction but may be wrong

You want to make many but smaller fields, first off. 2nd, multiple farm houses. If they fail to complete a step for the entire field by seasons end, the field fails to grow a crop that year. So, several smaller fields… Then the farm families from their farmhouses can do several and the ox drawn plow can do some too.

@@michealnelsonauthor OK but when I use an ox and a fully stocked farm house they can do 3 fields of 0.5 size and only complete the two the ox isn't on. If I have no ox they can complete 4 fields.

I cant get the damn oxen to help...i spent the point on the plow and i literally have two oxen sitting in their stalls next to the farm down the road and i dont know how to assign them to help

I think the fallow field, lets say it starts at 60% is the maximum. Only by turning it into a pasture can you get it up to 100%

As far as I know and have seen, fallow = 0 input needed for that period its fallow. Jst make sure workers are bk in time for crop time

Do you have a windmill? If not make one near the farmhouse and put a family in it

Honestly maybe like 2.0+ I think the oxen should be able to handle pretty easy

@@CreativeGamingKZfaq Man every other guide i've watched has said ".2 or .3" and so far it feels waaay too small.

@@noxid86 yeah I think 1.0 is fairly good size right off the bat to not make things so complicated. As you get use to it smaller plots can be better

There is a maximun fertility you can´t surpass. It depends on the fertility shown on the map when you choose where to build the field.

if u want to stop fallow if its stuck before the season starts and u wanna change the crop type , trye burn the field u get this option when u click on the field

Its not told correctly in the video, fallow fields will not generate but only REgenerate fertility, so in not so fertile regions you can never reach good fertility

I read that the wheat are winter wheat which is commonly planted in autumn.

You can change their work area in farmhouse, the same as lumber and firewood guy
