I really enjoyed all panelists' ideas and comments, but Jetu's was to the point. I live in US and buy and sell lot of stocks here. When I buy a share here, the only thing I need to study is the p&l performance of that company. I do not need to worry about the rules, auditing , inside trading violations and regulations by SEC. That has already been taken care of. This will be biggest problem if Ethiopia started its market. I do not think the proper Accounting Auditors and government regulators, like SEC here, are ready there. It is very easy to open a market and buy and sell shares. But, it is another tough thing regulating it. With out public confidence, there won't be an equity market. As Jetu said, yes, I may buy some bank and insurance companies' shares but the entire market will not grow unless all small but vibrant companies come to IPO market and transit into secondary market.

all panelists' discussion is a value adding but I am with ato solomon position. though, the financial market is the focus of the media, Financial institutions/intermediation is a determining factor for the development of any economy across the world.

The Dr. by much explains history of Ethiopian capital market thoughts. Mr. Solomon tries both money market and capital market in detail and more in global practical manner. The two guys from the Universities are around on theoretical basis, but we need this market be explained more from real stock market business perspective.
