This video is about KnitPicks Stroll and Palette yarns, specifically a comparison between the two. I knit a Musselburgh hat in each of these yarns and tell you my findings. Shocker - I love them both! KnitPicks is a dream!
Question of the day - What's your favorite KnitPicks yarn? Tell me all about it in the comments!

You have given me the inspiration to knit the mussleburgh.. I’ve had the pattern for awhile but got daunted with the whole cast on and understanding the pattern!

I have quite a bit of palette in various colors. Maybe I will try to stripe a musselburgh? Thanks for the inspiration!

Did you wash the hats, or are they all fresh off the needles? I’m curious because I feel like superwash grows significantly with washing.

I just made a Sockhead hat with Palette, and it came out great. The Stroll seems lighter (weight), thinner to me. The Stroll is softer, but the Palette (to me) is much less splitty and easier to knit. I began a Musselburgh and the Stroll annoyed me. I like Palette better and will use it for future Musselburghs and Sockheads 😊

I think palette is warmer than stroll but I love them both.

I haven't bused Palette yet but my Weekender Lite using stroll Tweed is just soooooo lovely and with lots of wear this past winter, still looks great. I don't think it pills like some other yarns. At least so far, so good.

@@hollybellknits I used Marine Heather in Stroll Tweed. I get a LOT of compliments on that sweater. It keeps shape pretty well. I would wear it maybe 5 -7 times before washing and blocking because I wore undershirts and also don't wear that sweater while cooking or hanging around the house (to avoid picking up dog's white hair). But would wear all day long at work. I am wanting to knit another with another Stroll Tweed, in Earl Grey Heather.

Have you ever met a Musselburgh hat that only goes to the bottom of your ears and doesn’t fold up? If you have do you have any hints on how to gauge stop and do that decreases? Thank you for all the information you shared with us!

So sorry….I usually read my comment to check for mistakes and auto corrections, before I post it. What I wanted to say was…..I want to make a musselburgh hat without the slouch, more like a beanie that comes to maybe 1/4” below the bottom of your ear. So a musselburgh without the folded brim. Do you have any advice on when I should start the decreases. Sorry again for the confusing post. I have loved finding your knitting podcast❤️

I want to knit the Musselburgh hat, but find the pattern daunting. I printed it off and it's like a bazillion pages. After watching your videos, I have ordered the Stroll to knit a hat for my son...now, if you could give me your advice...he is a Vikings fan and I want to do a purple and yellow hat...half an half, so when one side is worn, the brim is the other color ...and advice on how to do that ? Thank you for any info.

Mostly Knitting did a really good video on this called 'The perfect Musselburgh hat' and it's super in-depth and informative about color changing, length, etc. Knitty Natty also did a video where she explained how she made a team hat. I hope this helps, or that you figured it out already!
