I'm reading this as a read aloud with my kids right now! They are loving it. I loved seeing a reference to a Hempstock! Ocean at The End of the Lane was my first and favorite Gaiman. It's so wonderful to get to share a favorite author's work with my kids!

OMG this is one of my very favorite books and I had no idea about the Jungle Book parallels! Obviously, it's been too long since I read any Kipling. 😄💀 Love the appropriately-themed sweater!

Completely with you on The Graveyard Book. It’s my second favorite Gaiman as well. My favorite, though, is Neverwhere by a mile. I believe that’s your least favorite but London Below just has my heart as do Richard and Door.

I NEED a coraline-esque graveyard book adaptation 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 I'd love one for Ocean too so we'd have the children trio, but since Ocean isn't really targeted *for kids* idk how possible that'd be lol

For real, I need a properly mature stop motion adaptation of Ocean in my veins right now. I think studios, particularly streamers, are slowly opening up to the idea that animation isn't just for kids, so here's hoping 🤞

@@thebigshep for sure! It'd be my dream if Laika studio did graveyard book and Ocean, but i think Disney currently has the rights of Graveyard 😭

I enjoyed this book a lot. I think the themes about childhood in this book resonate with me even stronger in Ocean at the End of the Lane. Although I have heard people who didn’t like Ocean as much because they felt like it was just repeating Graveyard Book again.
