"And I strayed out of thought and time." I know the trees get the most publicity but I would loved to have seen the two lamps in their peak brilliance. But with both sources of light; the actual creation and formation of them would b completely jaw dropping to see. Gotta love the first age, full of so much wonder and out of this world splendor.

I saw another video a few months ago that was trying to create a visual timeline of Arda and it showed the Years of the Lamps being roughly 55% of the total time Arda existed until 200 of the 4th age, and then the death of the two trees left all other ages in the final 25%. I had never seen it visualized like that and man do I thirst for some stories of the Wars of the Powers!

While Melkor was the most powerful of the Valar, at the same time he was the weakest of them because he could not create anything of worth. All he could do is destroy and corrupt. Mock everything of worth that was in Arda. He commited the greatest of sins: destroying the Lamps, defiling then anihilating the Two Trees and of course creating the Orcs by kidnapping some of Iluvatar's first born children the Elves by torturing, mutilating and corrupting their very beings. That was his weakness, he wanted to control the fate of Arda by defying Eru's will for it. He truly belonged in the dark void because that is what his essence: dark nothingness. Great video Yoystan thanks once again.

Something I found in HoME which was incredibly creepy as far as the Valar are concerned was that the ban of the Valar was perhaps not laid on the Noldor due to any crime, but because the Noldor were actually the perfect weapon to keep Morgoth contained in Beleriand and dissipate his powers over the course of wars instead of destroying the landmass of Middle-earth by confronting him directly. The Valar therefore needed to provide the Noldor some incentive to remain and keep trying instead of coming back defeated. To summarise, from one possible perspective, Valar played everyone like a fiddle.

Eru Iluvatar gave Melkor too much power and capability in using it if you ask me. Even allowing him to hurt individual human beings himself. Yahuah and Yahusha never gave Satan Gadre'el that chance and made sure to restrain and bring him lower then the Beasts of the fields preventing him from hurting human beings directly through himself. Nor allowed him or any other angels like the Watchers to marr and change the world's shape as Morgoth did to Arda.

Cool. I like that interpretation as an alternate narrative put forward by the Valars' enemies -- it could have been part of the reasoning behind Sauron's seduction of the Dark Numenorians into the cult of Melkor.

Great Video, its amazing how much information you can convey in only 5 minutes while also maintaining your calm and pleasent way of speaking. I have a question though. At the end of the video you say, that the first age begins with the first rise of sun and moon. Is that really the case? I always thought that the first age began with the awakening of the elves at cuivienen and that part of the first age takes place during the years of the trees and part of it takes place during the years of sun and moon.

Too strong and given too much reign. Thanks Eru you gave your angelic entities you made in your thoughts to be capable to create and form things including change the structure of the land within the world. Let's see how that went out. *(Continents are in ruins and their foundations fail and they sink into the ocean and the entire landmasses are eroded and collapse and the whole cosmology of Arda gets reset again and again.)* Didn't end well. Yahuah & Yahusha: "You gave your angelic creations the power to create and have thoughts of beings their own little gods and they forsaken and look down on mankind?!" "That is not how I made my cosmology or set the time span I made the world and heaven! And I made sure my angels would not marr the land at all through sheer physical might without my guidance or approval! I do not allow Satan such authority or power on the earth! And only I can create, and there will be no other gods before me, and I will judge those who defile and destroy my creation when the right time to comes like pulling thorns away from the wheat! And I do not abandon those who are righteous and have faith in me!"

Melkor's essence is not the void, he chose the void; and he can't create, because he rejected Iluvatar's music and tried to produce his own music, which was horrible, but Iluvatar seized that power and made something bigger and more grandiose. Obviously, that great scene is a prophetic and symbolic expression of what was to come in Arda. And that is, obviously, a metaphor for the work of creation, the power to be a second cause collaborating with God's work, the rebellion of satan, the product, in the total history of creation, of the evil and the good fighting each other, in Catholic theology. It's very big, wonderful, sublime, deep, grandiose, overwhelming....

I must say when making the foundations and form of the world of Arda Eru Iluvatar is too laid back and slow and prefers to have his own creations to do the structuring after showing them his intended wanting designs compared to how Yahuah of Spirits and Yahusha the Son of Man in the Bible personally made the structures of the world and their set short time in books of First Enoch, Jubilee, and Genesis and made sure their creations the Angels including the Angel of the Preseance on the first day he made them would see and witness every work their creator had done each day before ending it all with mankind he made in his image and intended all thay laid on the earth perfectly at the start to be their's to rule and care. While Melkor ruined it all the minute he personally marred it with his power's essence. Something which angels like Gadre'el/Satan cannot do themselves because they do not hold such authority or power and can easily be restrained from directly physically hurting anybody by Yahuah himself showing he takes what intentions his creations do seriously and cares about mankind's safety alot. Plus the world's structure would remains mostly unchanging and nobody outside of his will can reshape it's form and that there will be no other other gods but him. Which many angels like the 200 Watchers did not heed. But atleast in his cosmology evil spirits and beings cannot rise in physical might and power to be as gods to avail against his true righteousness and holy ones. The Valar are honestly not as good as the Seven Archangels are in their purpose, positions, and duties bor fulfilling them all the way righteously and faithfully either.

It comes directly from Aragorn's speech at the Battle of the Black Gate: "Sons of Gondor! Of Rohan! My brothers. I see in your eyes the same fear that would take the heart of me. A day may come when the courage of Men fails, when we forsake our friends and break all bonds of fellowship, but it is not this day. An hour of wolves and shattered shields when the Age of Men comes crashing down, but it is not this day! This day we fight!
