ABOUT JASON:
Jason Crandell is a natural teacher and author with more than 20 years of experience. Named “one of the teachers shaping the future of yoga,” by Yoga Journal, Jason has been an in-demand teacher at conferences around the world for more than a decade.
For the past 10 years, Jason has honed his approach by looking to peers outside of the yoga community, in the fields of physical therapy, orthopedics, traumatology, and sports medicine. These collaborative partnerships have enabled Jason to offer the most up-to-date to asana technique, cueing, injury management, and hands-on adjustments. Jason’s goal is to blend the timeless wisdom of yoga philosophy with evidence-based information to create yoga curriculum that helps modern practitioners grow and evolve.

Thanks AGAIN Jason - The breakdown of these balances/concepts were clear in my mind when I listened via podcast, but after seeing it here it's like I can see the future! Peace

Very nice, but you do kakasana... bakasana is crane pose, straight arms... I always teach it with the explanation to lean forward until the feet lift on their own. After a 3 second hold, you can lift the feet towards the hips.

Oh so timely. I am strong enough, but I sometimes lift my feet and fall backwards. Now I know why! Thank you, Jason.

For the past two years, it has been my goal to get into Bakasana. I think the physical attributes are there, but the mental attribute lags behind. This breakdown may be just what I need. The physics of where the point of balance is: so obvious, but never really sunk in until now. No more of the feet flapping for me. Thanks Jason.

I've listened to all the "teachers companion" podcasts...now, I'm catching up on "watching". I see NOW that I'm not placing hands forward enough in eka pada galavasana to get the forward motion like I do in bakasana. Thanks!!

Thanks Jason for this video. I like your instructions. In my case, I cue students to go up in Bakasana so they keep that sensation of growing and not to get stuck in the pose. In some way, teaching them to also lift up is away to keep the energy going in different directions like “ push down on the mat, while you grow from your back and your weight goes forward”. What do you think?

#GREETINGS #MASTER... BAKASANA is 1 of my FAVS & I "own" it to Laura Burkhart who I have practiced lots of it with her online CLASSES & PRACTICES. & yes...I was a lot in the tiptoes sh*t until I learned it correctly & better understand it NOW with you. 1 thing is for sure...I shouldnt put lots of body lotion bfr my yoga practices principally if Im gonna do BAKASAN or any other yoga poses where my arms will be the "pole" of my body balance. :) Thank you so much for your knowledge shared with us. Im kind of "upset" that this AMAZING SERIES is close to ending. Until I get my things ready for a YOGA CLASS, Im studying + learning + having all the skills & knowledge I can for free. So thank You, JASON CRANDELL & also to ANDREA for sharing it. xoxo. God bless us. NAMASTE. #AKAPAGAgolavasana isnt a pose that I will practice or even put on my yoga practices to much unless I am practicing YOGA with somebody else & it is called to do. Im going to YIN YOGA & VYNASA as a YOGA INSTRUCTOR. abuja pidasana is more like counting 5seconds without "biffing up" (lol) & its better than nothing.

Is it more triceps on the arm balances? I can’t balance on my hand, not stronger on my upper body;(
@JasonCrandellYoga
@JasonCrandellYoga 2 жыл бұрын
With regards to strength in the upper body, honestly, it's the entire shoulder-girdle--especially the front of the shoulders and chest.
