About this post… 👇
Calisthenics is for everyone.
There are 3 type of people that comes to my mind when it comes to starting Calisthenics…
1. Those who see all the crazy and advanced moves and shy away completely because of it ❌
2. Those who go after those moves, but they rush through progressions, and either get injured or get frustrated along the way ❌
3. Those who are patient enough to respect the process, and are willing to put in the work to get control of their own bodyweight ✅
The third group is where I’d want you all to strive for…
Calisthenics can be extremely intimidating at the beginning. We see planches, levers, 360s, and all kind of crazy stuff in social media, and of course many will think: this is not for me.
Regardless of your background, wether you are 50+ years old, you are women (no offenses please), or you have some sort of physical limitation; there is no excuse not to do Calisthenics - unless you simply don’t want to.
There are progressions for EVERY single movement you see. There are ways to condition the body despite your fitness level. There is literally always something you can do with your own Bodyweight and make progress.
Calisthenics is not all about the fancy moves. Actually, it’s not about that at all. Yes, you can get to do amazing things if you put in the proper effort consistently, but you don’t have to!
Everyone can get to do push ups, pull ups, dips, rows, planks, hangs, and build an amazing physique with those alone. Moreover, you’ll be surprised what your body can do with proper progressive training.
If you like Calisthenics, GO FOR IT!
There is no reason not to try.
Share this with someone who needs it!
With Love,
Gabo

Love it! Thank you. We have to start from where we're at. I used to push myself to do the hardest possible variation of each exercise that I could do - but it meant my form was terrible, and I was likely compensating by using the wrong muscles. (I used to get terrible back pain during certain ab exercises). But since following you guys I've regressed to exercises I can execute properly, with full control. It's way more enjoyable - and as I progress back to the harder variations I can do them pain free! 💪😀💜

"Calisthenics" is just a fancy way of saying "bodyweight exercises." There is nothing about that word denoting complexity and difficulty as qualifying criteria, but I'd imagine it's not something most guys training calisthenics are interested in pointing out; exclusivity and elitism are parts of human nature. Fortunately there are always people like the fine folks at Saturno Movement who'll give it to you straight, without BS, and with a helping of encouragement on the side.
