Proverbs 18:13 KJV He that answereth a matter before he heareth it, It is folly and shame unto him. To further elaborate : I never said you don’t have to repent. I said you do not have to “repent of your sins” to go to heaven. You don’t have to turn from sin to go to heaven. You do have to repent and believe. (Turn from what you were believing to believing In Jesus Christ.) Yes we should repent of our sins and ask for forgiveness. But the only thing that takes us to heaven is what Jesus did on the cross! It’s nothing that we have done. It’s all about what he has done.

Repentance is a sign of salvation. If you think you're saved and still love or don't feel the need to repent for your sin, you're probably not saved. The desire to please God is a fruit of salvation. We will reap the relationship with our Father that we will have in Heaven, with what we sow here. Those who reject him here and don't want him will have that for eternity in Hell, which saddens him. If we seek him here, we will be in his presence for eternity. Not by works, by us seeking him. I don't wanna be in the farthest bleachers in heaven watching our Lord from afar, no matter what it'll be better than Hell, but I want to be in his presence for eternity.

As a Pastor, I can see your ability to cherry pick verses to prove your point is a skill you've practiced. You ignore all the verses that literally say, you must repent, in order to make your opinion seem valid. Yes, you must repent of your sins to be saved. Following your line of logic, a serial killer who never gets caught, yet is baptized and believes goes to heaven. Which is another point you're wrong on, you don't just believe to go to heaven, apparently you missed the verse where Jesus himself said you must be baptized....Your incorrect teaching could lead people to eternity in hell, if you care about the salvation of others, please make sure you know what you're talking about before advising others....following your advice to get to heaven is like hiring Alec Baldwin as a firearms safety instructor brother.

@@livingforjesus8551 Christ changes us when we are born again. He gives us new desires and a new heart. We NO longer willfully sin. If we sin accidently, we are forgiven. When we become aware of any sin we have commited accidently we immediately repent and God is quick to forgive us. Only God is perfect, but we strive to be perfect, as He is perfect. We obey Him out of a genuine love for Him. And in gratitude to Him. No greater love hath a man, than to lay down his life for another. Christ, who was perfect layed His life down for sinners. Even those that persecuted Him. But if we continue in sin, continue to reject Him and in doing so reject His free gift of eternal life. Then on the day of judgement He will reject us. Let's see, Paul said it is the gospel that saves, and that you are saved by believing in the gospel. He also seperated the gospel from baptism, by saying that God sent him not to baptise, but to preach the gospel. When you say you must be baptise, you make the cross of Christ of no effect, because you are addinh works to the cross. You are saying, that neing baptise is on the same level of Christ sacrifice in the cross. Where is the part where Jesus said, that ye must be baptise to be saved.? Romans 1:16 King James Version 16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. Ephesians 1:13 King James Version 13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, 1 Corinthians 1:17 King James Version 17 For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.

And when John was there he knew what Peter said. If there was any disagreement it would have been a great time to say so. But because there was no disagreement in the whole fact and matter the truth was without error. And if we account the word of God for truth than this is certainly truth! The plan of salvation is actually given in Acts 2:38, now, this passage of Scripture is just the starting point. Also, John 3:5 states that unless you're born again from the water and the Spirit, you will not inherit the kingdom of heaven... Now, how does everything start? Repentance. From the book of Genesis to the book of Revelation, repentance is mentioned countless times.

I agree, original post is misleading, you invite God into your life with open heart, this cannot be faked. You ask God into your life and for forgiveness of your sins because you believe in Jesus Christ. When you do this sincerely with your heart not your mind you will know and be filled with the Grace of God and faith forever more, you will be overwhelmed with sadness and joy and need no texts, no person to tell you if God is in your life at that moment you will know and this is what being born again is. When this happened to me I wept and cried for a long time, for days afterwards if anyone in the street looked at me they smiled I was overflowing with Gods light after this happened and I was never the same again. Good deeds are not to gain credit they are because of your love and want to do good deeds after salvation not before and not to gain credits in life. The bible is a gateway to find God but it is a one to one relationship. Love, Truth, Faith, Forgiveness. God Bless ✝🙏

But then is repentance a “work” we must perform in order to earn our salvation? Not at all! Repentance and faith are really two sides of the same coin. Repentance is turning from sin. Faith is turning to, trusting in, and relying on Christ. Repentance is not a “work” anymore than faith is: we simply renounce our sin and rely on Christ.” Then Jesus said unto His disciples, “If any man will come after Me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow Me. According to the unanimous testimony of Scripture, repentance is absolutely necessary in order to be saved. Only those who turn from their sin, trust in Christ, and live lives that are characterized by righteousness will be saved on the last day. Peter said, “Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord” (Acts 3:19)

@rena6895 that's good and all, but since it's a daily walk, we must repent daily, it's not a one time deal. It's really easy to isolate verses and make a statement out of it, instead of looking at the whole of the Scripture. Also, repentance and faith are not exactly the same, faith leads to repentance., why would you repent if there's no faith. And as far as works, we are saved by grace not works, but we need to work our salvation, we can't live like the world while proclaiming Christianity. If we want to please the Lord, we ought to please Him. How do we know how? Reading his word, yes, even the ones that talk about holiness.

Peter, in Acts 2, being full of the Holy Spirit, gives a sermon testifying to the nature of Jesus and when they asked him what they should do his response was, " and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ , and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit." (Acts 2:38) If you do not repent, your sins will not be forgiven and the Holy Spirit will not dwell in an unrepentant heart. Repentance is believing in Jesus, it is not a work just as being born again is not a work. These things are a matter of the heart which no man can see but God does see the intentions of the heart. (Hebrews 4:12) Baptism is a work that we are called to do to show others that we have repented and believe in Jesus, much in the same way that a wedding ring shows others that you are married. It is not the ring that makes you married it is the commitment in your heart. I would encourage you to study the Word of God more thoroughly so that you do not inadvertently cause others to stumble or follow a false doctrine.

I respect the way you bring up your points. Here's my counterpoint. The book of John shows the Pharisees constantly rejecting Jesus and refusing to believe in him. Why? Because of their sin. They love their pride, their glory before men. In order to turn to Jesus, they would have to, like Nicodemus, be willing to drop their pride, or in other words, repent of it. The human heart is contrary to God, and believing in Jesus is to get into the boat with him because you recognize you are drowning. It seems to me that belief without repentance can never amount to truly getting into the boat with Jesus, as you have to willingly reject your stone heart to receive the heart of Jesus (Ezekiel 36:25-27, Rom 6:1-11). You're either holding the boat but not climbing in, or intellectually affirming that the boat exists, but you never truly escape the ocean. The only result can be suppressing the spirit because you don't truly wish to live a new life. As for repentance being a work, since you're clearly baptist, do you believe in regeneration? That our repentance is a fruit of the Holy Spirit working in/on us before we ever become a believer? In that case, repentance is not a work of ourselves, but a work of God in us.

You, ...not once saved always saved, if we turn away and fall into perpetual sin and do not return to The Most High and turn away from sin, we are lost! Show me this from scripture, because I have yet to find it. This statement alone is telling me, that you, or your sin is greater than God, which can pluck you out of his hand, even though Jesus said, no man can pluck us out of his hand, nor his Father's hand, because he is GREATER THAN ALL. That means he is greater than you, and your sin. Hebrews says, Jesus ever liveth to make intercession for us, and that he will never leave us not forsake us. If one were to lose salvation, and be cast into hell, that means he has forsaken us, and that scripture would be a lie, and Gid can't be trusted. Nit to mention, that he would essentially be casting a part of Jesus into hell, because Paul says, we have become a part of the body of Christ. Which means, if we were to be plucked from his hand, he would be plucking a part of himself out, like when you pluck a chicken.

The old testament saints was not indwelled by the Holy Spirit, and saying take not away thy Holy Spirit is not saying he can lose salvation. A sin unto death is not about losing salvation, John say don't pray for it, meaning that a saved person can sin a sin, and Gid will take him home early. Where at in Ezekiel does it say they lost salvation? It doesn't say that at all, it says that they shall die, thus is talking about physical death, not losing salvation. 20 The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him. 21 But if the wicked will turn from all his sins that he hath committed, and keep all my statutes, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live, he shall not die. 22 All his transgressions that he hath committed, they shall not be mentioned unto him: in his righteousness that he hath done he shall live. 23 Have I any pleasure at all that the wicked should die? saith the Lord God: and not that he should return from his ways, and live? 24 But when the righteous turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and doeth according to all the abominations that the wicked man doeth, shall he live? I've always understood the word "repent" to mean turning away from sin and resolving to live in union with Christ. Sin is anything opposed to Christ, so by repenting you're necessarily turning towards Christ. This of course requires you to believe in his saving grace, so believing and repenting are essentially the same thing.

From the book of Luke (below)... 39 One of the criminals hanging beside him scoffed, “So you’re the Messiah, are you? Prove it by saving yourself-and us, too, while you’re at it!” 40 But the other criminal protested, “Don’t you fear God even when you have been sentenced to die? 41 We deserve to die for our crimes, but this man hasn’t done anything wrong.” 42 Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your Kingdom.” 43 And Jesus replied, “I assure you, today you will be with me in paradise.” One criminal repented one didn't.... Figure it out.

I think repenting from your sin is part of the salvation process. Coming to the knowledge that Jesus is your savior and king and believing in Him will cause one to turn from their sin and try to live according to the way Jesus wants us to live. Merely mouthing belief in Jesus but showing no signs of repentance and living a life without any change to your behavior would put into question if one truly believes in Him in the first place? And once saved always saved?...I don't believe that. I think one could fall away and totally reject Christ therefore losing their salvation...iow's knowingly rejecting the gift of salvation.

You are clearly a very wise young man, I wish my own sons were as passionate and thoughtful towards God’s Word. You have a gift and have brought forward a discussion to push us to delve deep within the Word. Let us not turn on each other, but encourage one another in love. May we sharpen one another as iron sharpens iron.

SIMPLY because it is the very action (repentance) That Jesus claimed the Apostles should preach :"Repent, for the Kingdom of God draws near." If Repentance does not accompany one decision to follow Christ, then WHAT? You walk in Christ in your sins? Does not make any sense at all. I am Sorry, young man. So remember that when you leave something like this on your record forever. Maybe try videos of talking about it, rather than saying you are right. I am 45, and was saved at 43. I lived a life in the darkness, and thought I was a good person. I was just a sinner like you and everyone else. Every time we try to make the path wider to Heaven, we are saying Jesus just didn't know the way to Heaven could be widened. Like I said, you are on the right track. Biblical “Repentance” with regard to people mainly means to stop living according to your sinful, natural instincts, and start living in light of God’s laws and statutes… Psalm 119 gives example after example after example of this scenario playing out… All 176 verses in that chapter. People are hybrid creatures… Half animal and half spiritual… If we disregard God‘s laws, we will live like animals (the old man), but if we live, according to God‘s laws, we will live like Christians (the new man). Renew your minds is the mandate of scripture… A good quote that I heard is “people need to be reminded more than they need to be instructed“. This is why we need to be in the word every day, to remind ourselves of what it says. No man can perfectly obey the laws of God that’s why we flee to Christ and the New Testament… Repentance towards God is what we learn in the Old Testament and belief in Jesus Christ and his perfect life credited to our account as what we believe in the New Testament.

You are wrongly defining repentance. Many understand the term repentance to mean “a turning from sin.” Regretting sin and turning from it are related to repentance, but are not the precise meaning of the word. In the Bible, the word repent means “to change one’s mind.” The Bible also tells us that true repentance will result in a change of actions (Luke 3:8-14; Acts 3:19). In summarizing his ministry, Paul declares, “I preached that they should repent and turn to God and demonstrate their repentance by their deeds” (Acts 26:20). The short biblical definition of repentance is “a change of mind that results in a change of action.”

You are misleading whoever following you as you lack understanding. Acts 3:19: "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord." 2 Corinthians 7:10: "For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death." Luke 13:3: "I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish." Acts 17:30: "And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent." Matthew 4:17: "From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand." This is from Christ himself 😮 Mark 1:15: "And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel." There is no turning away without belief. Acts 2:38: "Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost." Repentance is necessary for salvation. There is no belief of you don't follow the laws. Mess around and God say I never knew you. Also you misquoted Ephesians Grace through Faith: Ephesians 2:8-9 teaches that salvation is a gift from God: "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." It is not earned through good works but received through faith in Christ. Faith is Christ requires REPENTANCE!!! A ACTION. Something you do not think. It's levels to it. Time will show you what you truly believe.

There are a number of issues with what you are “preaching.” 1. You presuppose a univocality in the texts of the Bible. 2. You pick and choose what you’d like and throw out the rest. 3. You are presupposing that Repent meant the same in Hebrew and Greek. 4. In Jonah it was talking about works as in what they did, not as in works unto salvation. It just is translated to “what they did” not their works. 5. You are understanding scripture with a 2024 perspective. Grace, Faith, Works during Paul’s time were economic terms used to convey Patron/Client relationships. That is why most scholars are leaning towards Salvation from Allegiance only, which would include both faith and works.

Scholars can say what they want, but Paul said it is either faith or works, but not both. Paul said if it is of works, then it is no more grace, but of works. Paul said the 2 don't mix, they are like oil and water. Paul said his faith is accounted for righteousness, not his works. I will go with Paul, and not what the "scholars" say. Romans 11:4-6 King James Version 4 But what saith the answer of God unto him? I have reserved to myself seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to the image of Baal. 5 Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace. 6 And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then it is no more grace: otherwise work is no more work. Romans 4 King James Version 4 What shall we say then that Abraham our father, as pertaining to the flesh, hath found? 2 For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to glory; but not before God. 3 For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness. 4 Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt. 5 But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.

I’m sorry, man. If we don’t repent then we weren’t sorry for what we did. You’re trying to justify a false gospel. Romans talks a lot about it. ”What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? By no means! We are those who have died to sin; how can we live in it any longer? Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life. For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we will certainly also be united with him in a resurrection like his. For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body ruled by sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin- because anyone who has died has been set free from sin. Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him. For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, he cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over him. The death he died, he died to sin once for all; but the life he lives, he lives to God. In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus. Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires. Do not offer any part of yourself to sin as an instrument of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer every part of yourself to him as an instrument of righteousness. For sin shall no longer be your master, because you are not under the law, but under grace.“ ‭‭Romans‬ ‭6‬:‭1‬-‭14‬ ‭NIV‬‬

We don’t turn from sin to earned salvation - but we do turn away from sin because we have been given salvation. Believing on The Lord Jesus will produce repentance. And while our Lord DOES sympathize with us, our Lord is also disgusted with sin and His desire for us is to learn to love what He loves and hate what He hates, to live how He lived and even die how He died, to be raised up the way He was raised. Salvation is not just about going to heaven, it’s about being made new. So we SHOULD DESIRE to repent (change our mind and actions).

James 2:19. "You believe there is one God. You do well! Even the demons believe and tremble." Luke 4:34 The demons who call out to Jesus believe that he is "The Holy One of God" I could go on and on. To believe in Jesus does not simply mean to believe in His existence. It means to believe that His finished work on the cross through His shed blood is sufficient for our sins to be forgiven. But as I posted earlier, 1 John 1:9 stipulates the confession of sins to receive that cleansing from unrighteousness. It is that step that demonstrates the faith you refer to in Ephesians 2:8,9.

Arminians tend to start the story in the middle… The whole Old Testament is an example of the damage that sin has done and continues to do… to “Fear God“ is to fear God‘s judgments against sin. People need to be told what they are saved from first before there can be any gospel (good news) and it is primarily that we be saved from our sins, not hell. Matthew 1:21 NASB95 She will bear a Son; and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins." I’m assuming you’re a Calvinist? I could be wrong, be the tend to believe “repenting” is works…they also believe “believing” is works. Repenting means to “change your mind”, you are correct about that. So why would changing your mind about sin be wrong? John the Baptist taught repentance, Jesus taught repentance, Peter taught repentance and Paul taught repentance. If you don’t turn from sin there is no real conversion. You don’t really “believe” in Jesus if you still live like hell and haven’t died to self. Satan and demons believe in Jesus…are they saved? Lastly, the word “believe” in the Bible had a stronger meaning than we have today. It implied actions supporting your belief (faith without works is dead) are necessary. Repenting, turning away from, changing your mind about sin would prove belief. I’m really happy to see a young man excited about God’s word, but be careful what you teach because you could lead people astray. In this case someone could take away the idea that they can be save without becoming a new creature and continue a life of sin.

Why does Jesus constsntpy tell people to go and sin no more?
@mbfrommb3699
@mbfrommb3699 3 ай бұрын
He didn't. The problem is that many who don't understand Jesus quote this verse and completely miss it's meaning. John 8 10 When Jesus had raised Himself up and saw no one but the woman, He said to her, “Woman, where are those accusers of yours? Has no one condemned you?” 11 She said, “No one, Lord.” And Jesus said to her, “Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more.” First, the woman never expresses remorse over her sin. So she never repented as many define it today. Repent is Metanoia in the Greek it means "change of mind". The message to the Jews was to change their mind from trusting in themselves to follow the law for salvation and trust in Jesus. Notice the conversation here. He said to her, “Woman, where are those accusers of yours? Has no one condemned you?” 11 She said, “No one, Lord.” (LORD = Master or Authority) (She didn't call Him teacher or rabbi, or prophet, she called Him "Lord". "And Jesus said to her, “Neither do I condemn you;..." Romans 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit." See Jesus forgave her. He removed the condemnation sin had over her. He freed her, by simply speaking it, because she called Him "Lord." That is why He said "go and sin no more" not because this was something she could do (how arrogant is it of us to think we have any clue about the holiness of GOD to think we can just stop sinning." He said this to her because He saved her. She was sinless from that point forward regardless of what she did. What's sad today is that many Christians don't understand what sin is. We aren't sinners because we sin. We sin because we are sinners. Claiming you can stop sinning not only makes a mockery of Jesus's death on the cross but it's like saying you can stop being human on your own. The curse is humanity. We went from immortal to mortal, perfect to flawed, incorruptable to corruptible. Your sin doesn't keep you out of Heaven, being human does. 1 Cor 15:50-57. When we trust in Jesus by faith we are born again into a new creation. There is still a war daily in this flesh but the LORD sees us as new creatures. John 6:40 40 And this is the will of Him (The Father) who sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day.” Christianity as a religion wants you to think you have some ability to partner with Jesus for your salvation. The reality is that our faith is what's required. Total faith that Jesus is your ONLY hope, that it's mercy and grace that saves you. That He keeps you saved. Hopefully this helps. Take care.

But then by the grace of God I found the church that Jesus established. The Catholic Church and all my questions I had as a Protestant were answered. There’s a distinction between moral and venial sin. And that really helped me understand salvation and how we are saved. Cause if you try and interpret it yourself it’s gonna be a mess and people are gonna have all different interpretations because of all the verses and it can be confusing no doubt. So I highly recommend that you look into church history to find out what the earliest Christians believed and I think you will be shocked at what you find.

Ni, the catholic church is nit found in the Bible, and goes against God's words. Jesus said to call no man father here on earth. Yet, the catholic priests want you to call them father. Paul told Timothy that people will give heed to seducing spirits, forbidding to marry, again, that I'd what catholic priests are commanded to do, they are forbidden to marry. They have been seduced by evil spirits. 1 Timothy 4:1-5 King James Version 4 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; 2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; 3 Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth. 4 For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving: 5 For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.

Good! Even the demons believe that-and shudder. 20 You foolish person, do you want evidence that faith without deeds is useless? 21 Was not our father Abraham considered righteous for what he did when he offered his son Isaac on the altar? 22 You see that his faith and his actions were working together, and his faith was made complete by what he did. 23 And the scripture was fulfilled that says, “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness,” and he was called God’s friend. 24 You see that a person is considered righteous by what they do and not by faith alone. 25 In the same way, was not even Rahab the prostitute considered righteous for what she did when she gave lodging to the spies and sent them off in a different direction? 26 As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead. James 2:14-26 As well as....... 3 For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Esaias, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight. 4 And the same John had his raiment of camel's hair, and a leathern girdle about his loins; and his meat was locusts and wild honey. 5 Then went out to him Jerusalem, and all Judaea, and all the region round about Jordan, 6 And were baptized of him in Jordan, confessing their sins. 7 But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come? 8 Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance: 9 And think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham. 10 And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Matthew 3: 3-10 And....... 1Therefore, since you have been raised with Christ, strive for the things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. 2Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. 3For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. 4When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory. 5Put to death, therefore, the components of your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires, and greed, which is idolatry. 6Because of these, the wrath of God is coming on the sons of disobedience. 7When you lived among them, you also used to walk in these ways. 8But now you must put aside all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips. Keep studying the Word of God, praying that He gives you understanding concerning reprentance. Here are some Scriptures I would like to provide you in the meantime. The Apostle Paul asked his readers a question as a check point before giving a warning concerning repentance. He asked, do you not know that "the goodness of God leads you to repentance? But because of your stubbornness and unrepentant heart you are storing up wrath for yourself on the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God." (Romans 2:4, 5). According to the book of Revelation, God will deal with those who are unrepentant during the time of the Tribulation Period (Revelation 9:20, 21; 16:9-11). Biblically speaking, you cannot be a Christian apart from repentance. God has called all men to repent (Acts 17:30). The Apostle Peter also preached repentance proclaiming, "Therefore repent and return, so that your sins may be wiped away, in order that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord;" (Acts 3:19) There is much more to say on repentance; however, you must seek God for understanding.

If Jesus tells people to repent OVER AND OVER AGAIN what does BELIEVING IN HIM MEAN? You are correct that we do not earn our salvation. Repenting means changing your mind it doesn't always apply to sin. I could repent of KFC in self disgust. Jesus said twice "sin no more" to the adulterous woman at the well and the man who he healed at the pool of Bethesda. We were told what the woman did. Why might Jesus want her to repent and to stop sinning? Well, lets look at what adultery accomplishes. Did you know that NINE PERCENT of ALL SUICIDES are from people who had discovered their partners infidelity in less than 24 HOURS? Pretty much all sin is ANTI HUMAN and Jesus/ being that He is God and created us, loves us and desires our preservation. What kind of absolute ding-dong would teach against it? You say, "oh no, don't repent of your sins, just believe in Jesus" Okay what does Jesus say? He says you have no idea what you are talking about maybe you should have a single gray hair before you teach? How does one worship God in spirit and in truth? By loving everything Christ loves and hating everything Christ hates, by literally having the Spirit of God inside you so that you know God and God knows YOU. If you aren't glad to reject sin (it doesn't mean you are sinless), you are just as big a fool as the people who think they don't sin. So in conclusion, you are right to say repenting of sin does not save you, but you are 100% wrong to say that we don't have to repent of sin. If you don't repent of sin, you don't know God, you're a poser. You earned my sub, I will be back for more.

@@SeanBarnettII That's doubtful based on the deception i see here. But i hope and pray you come to a knowledge of the truth. Time is incredibly short now. And tomorrow is not promised to any of us. Life is short. Eternity is never ending.

You’re reading Scripture out of contexts to reach your conclusion, completely ignoring where Yashua specifically said REPENT. The Bible says, you believe in God, so do the demons, and they tremble. God has a whole laundry list of sins that will definitely prevent you from entering into heaven. In fact, in the exact Book you referred to Yashua told the man to sin no more. John 5:14 The Bible also says that a person who continues in sin doesn’t know the Father and the Father is not in Him. And what about 2 Peter 2:20-22?? And what about Hebrews 6:4-8?? I am so sorry, bur you are WRONG. I really hope you reconsider your position. 😞
