It's funny, I thought for a while that Spidey's motto "with great power comes great responsibility", resembled the verse "To whom much is given, much is required." It's cool to see that being brought up here.

Defending Spider-man's case (kinda biased, he's my favourite hero): 1. Vengeance;he Barely ever takes vengeance and it's usually only early in his career from being emotional after his own uncle was murdered. Indeed, he did seek vengeance and he hated but I think he has more than a solid case that it is a bit justified. Though sin is sin and I cannot claim that he is free from all guilt. 2. Lying in Spider-man's case is a bit iffy, he does not lie to deceive or to gain but to protect, both himself but mostly those around him. Just as the case with his vengeance, in this case I yet again think it is more than understandable, yet, again I do not think All guilt is free from him. 3. As about taking law into his own hand, he does not go Against authority unless in very specific situations where the law turns a side eye, which is justified, did not the Christ do the very same when the pharisees were not good authority? Indeed I think he is justified in this case. A 1/3 with harshness is achieved but I can see the case for a 1.5/3 or even a 2/3 here. As for the 10 commandments; 1. Nothing to address, he's a Christian. As for the symbiote part was literally his mind being affected by an external force, I do not think guilt falls upon him. 2. Being a symbol of hope, as you mentioned, does not overstep the commandment. Neither does he have any idols for himself. 3. He sadly does say "omG" from time to time, he does not say it disrespectfully nor does he realise that it is bad but indeed he takes the name of the Lord in vain. Though it is rare nor does he actually understand it as such. 4. I do not think he keeps the Sabbath, so I think he takes an L for that one. 5. Though Peter has no mother or father, for they are dead, he does honor his motherly role model and has all respect and love for her. Sure, indeed he does lie to her for her own safety but I don't think he disgraces or dishonors her with this. Also disobeying a parent is not always bad, for example if a parent is keeping you away from Christ, it is not bad, it is even good to disobey them on that. I think he gets a pass. 6. The Hebrew word for this commandment refers to immoral killing, thus the translation usually being murder. This is further shown by how the Old Testament supports self defence and says that if there is no other choice, to kill is acceptable. Spider-man has killed Only on a handful of cases and it was when it was the very last resort, always asking God for forgiveness immediately as he does it. I think he gets a pass unless it counts when he killed Wolverine's friend on accident when she used his irritated spider sense to end her life, though that was an accident. 7. Spiderman has never committed adultery neither would he ever. Though, sadly, I have to bring up that he Has in some continuity practiced fornication such as having sex without marriage, though that is in very few versions which are not the main canon any ways. He gets a pass. 8. Indeed, he does not steal. I think he gets a pass. 9. Whether this commandment refers to lying in general or lying against another person Exclusively is debatable though lying in general is addressed elsewhere and this one is about bearing false witness. We already addressed lying and Spider-man does Not bear a false witness against his neighbour. He gets a pass. 10. You covered that, Spider-man does not covet, he Is not happy with how unlucky he is but he doesn't envy a life Others have, rather he envies a potential life he Could have and does not enjoy how much pain surrounds him. That's a pass. That brings a score of 7-8/10 in the commandments. It really depends if you count lying to aunt May for her safety as dishonoring her. So his righteousness points are 8-9/13, pretty good. Now, would Spider-man get to Heaven? I think Spider-man is canonically Christian and indeed he does try his very best to be a good and righteous man, abstaining from sin. So not only does he have faith in Christ but he produces fruit, showing the genuineness of his faith and how it is not dead. Thus, Spider-man goes straight to Heaven, through the blood and grace of Christ. Of course, Spider-man could no longer be a canonical Christian, a lot of time has passed since that was confirmed but from what we know, I think he is saved by Christ.

Keeping sabbath is not mandatory.
@stmp416020 күн бұрын
@@cagegames4755 eh, that's an iffy one. The Sabbath is a day For man kind, a gift by God to one, rest and to also spend more time with Him. It is also a commandment, so I'd call it more so disrespectful to God for rejecting his gift and spending more time with him on that day than a sin.

@@stmp4160 It is not iffy, it is not disrespectul. Grade A strawman. What is more iffy is the "justifiable killing".
@stmp416019 күн бұрын
@@cagegames4755 not a strawman, it is Literally a commandment. The justifiable killing is also Definitely not iffy. For one the word here used in Hebrew refers to morality wrong killing not simply murder. It is also immoral to kill an enemy who's now unarmed in war but it doesn't really count as murder. Let's not forget that In the Old Testament, killing in self defence is fine as a last resort. God has also commanded war Once so as to punish another land for sacrificing babies. If you say there Isn't moral and immoral killing, you're Literally saying God commanded sin.

I'm pretty sure that lying in some scenarios is ok. For exemple: During war, you hide A people from B people that wants to kill A people. a B guy shows up to your door waiting to know if you have A people. You have two choice, say the truth and give the A people knowing they will die or lie and nothing bad happens. In that case you protect lifes and Its more favorable that doing the other. Also there are application for the 10 commandements, for exemple the 6, its not just murder, hating someone also counts. For the 7th, even looking with lust counts. Might be a good idea to add this for the future videos, if you want too.

I'll give that a pass because it was clearly out of character for Spider-Man to do such a thing. What about Optimus he's probably going to heaven? Can Megatron get a chance to go to heaven?" He then gave his heart to the lord because My "Mom said if Optimus was real and a human, he would want to know Jesus." So that sold Sam - Luke

I really like the premise of this video, but i think the execution is very flawed. It seems like there are several times where you flash on the screen glaringly obvious examples of Spider-man not being biblically just (him having pre-marital sex with black cat and mary jane, him very obviously not observing the sabbath, current incarnations of spider-man don’t exhibit any religious beliefs, when spider-man attempted to murder Itsy Bitsy, he frequently covets time and money). I don’t know where your bias comes from but imo it’s clear that you aren’t giving a fair analysis here
