Here is how you know if you are officially an Arizona local or not. Once you do a few of these things on this list like truly enjoy spicy food, think 70 degree weather in Arizona requires a sweater, check your porch for rattlesnakes and much more. We have put over 20 different things about living in Arizona for local guidelines in this series here.
#Arizona #MovetoArizona #LiveinArizona
Living in Arizona is quite a unique experience because of the vastness that the state offers. From the Sonoran Desert in the south to the high country in the north all the way up towards the Four Corners east and the Grand Canyon in the west. Known as the Grand Canyon state, Arizona is diverse in many ways. The state tree is the Palo Verde, the state cactus is the Saguaro, the state bird is the Cactus wren. If you are thinking about moving to Arizona feel free to subscribe and check us out on our other channels.

Arizona is a dry heat which isn't that bad !!! I was in Arizona 25 years ago on vacation and i was walking around downtown Phoenix all day long !!! When i got back to the hotel the news was on and the weather lady said it was currently 110 degrees !!! I was shocked because it didn't feel that bad outside !!! The heat we have here in Texas is much worse because of the crazy humidity !! When it's a 110 in Texas you will be sweating your ass off because of the miserable humidity !!

40 year Arizonan here. All but about 3 or 4 items on this list I can relate to. One item on the list, the flash flood thing in particular is totally true. About 1/2 a mile from where I sit and type this a number of years ago I was driving on a residential street during the rain at night, I turned a corner and suddenly found myself driving in 6 inches of water! Fortunately, there was a sidewalk there that was up out of the water and I drove on the sidewalk and partly in peoples' yards for a couple of blocks. The car was running a little funny after that. Once the water reaches the depth of the car's innards it is risking killing the car. FFS, drive around water or wait if you don't need to get to where you are going at that moment. Thx 4 posting.

The reason we don't have basements is because building code requires putting a houses foundation below the frost line, in AZ that's about 18 inches. in colder climates it's much lower.

Many of these are almost identical to Utah. 90º to 100º is good weather. Bolo ties and turquoise pretty popular around here in Utah. Lucky most our Rattlers and coyotes are up in there hills, plus there is usually a bounty on coyotes here. We have plenty of mountains as well.. And big ones. Still hoping to relocate though... Ditch or long, cold winters of Utah for they mild winters of Baja Az... Too bad I will have missed out on the 30 year driver license.

The coyote thing is amazing. I worked in Los Angeles until I retired last year and my job took me into residential neighborhoods at night. I can't count the number of times I saw coyotes. It was hard to make the local residents believe it, because they never saw them. But most people aren't out driving 7 hours in the wee hours of the night, so the opportunity for coyote sightings just isn't there.

Warning I moved to AZ for a govt job too and they started my background “after” I started work. 🤦🏻‍♀️ Scary! AZ is just like NV.
