Got one for ya that is technically a Shadowbringer spoiler: The Scion NPCs will follow you with their eyes when you are near, and stop when you go too far away. Except Exarch/G'raha who follows you farther than anyone else before he stops looking. It's been noted he follows you with his eyes in the Occular non-stop until you go behind him. He truly is a fanboy of the WoL.

The moon and sun provided light sources before gpose was a thing and you still wanted cute lighting. If you poke them, they'll move up and down to adjust :)

There's a quest at moraby drydocks that gets you the coeurl kitten and wolf pup. When you have them out in combat they fight!

Some other emotes you can get from yellow quests: Haurchefant and Spectacles You can also get some glam from yellow quests, my favourite is a blindfold from a quest called Ant Juice.

literally had a trial roulette the other day and a member asked DPS (which I main) to take it slow during the final Endwalker fight, just so he could enjoy the fight in full as much as possible. So we did and have to admit. It was a really long time since I had to really think about my job since I actually had to remind myself to not just bombard my regular move set. The fight went on just a few minutes longer than normal...but we did get to enjoy the music a bit more than one normally might nowadays. So, it was worth taking that step back for once. Also fun fact with the latest hatching tides.....(If you have played Endwalker) there are several NPC's that the WoL has befriended in Tonberry costumes at the event, this includes one Tonberry in a dark green costume....Erenville...who exclaims he was dragged into the event while preparing to do another commission. Which just makes me beg the question....will we...and if possible...can we...see him and other gleaners start appearing around the world more and more as well soon? lol

Additional fun facts about the Void Ark UFO! It was in the game as soon as 3.0, even though the raid didn’t come out until 3.1, but it was VERY RARE and much farther away and harder to see! It wasn’t until after the raids that it became very common and up close. Still remember multiple times my linkshells or FC would be “I see the ship!” And several of us would journey to the point just to check it out before we had any idea what it could be. I knew there was a macro for blacklisting but never actually saw it, so I’ll count that as something I didn’t know! Knew everything else but I’ve been here since 2.0 beta so no surprise there😅

Yes most people doesnt know ads phase in Syrcuss Tower today. Those three robots ads were for each party to kill while keeping them separated, then each party went over platforms to avoid getting wiped on main platform. Its been long time, so i dont remember it exactly, but today its simply burn boss down, which is sad.

Fortunately for me, "CT Strippers" are very rare on the JP server. You can easily get queued for any of the alliance raids so long as your job is leveled appropriately for it. I still love playing (and wiping 🙃 ) in Orbonne Monastery. As for emotes: the adjust glasses one was a pain in the ass to get because it's locked behind THE ENTIRE Hildibrand quests up to Heavensward AND the Scholastic questline also from Heavensward. You wouldn't even know it existed unless you looked it up in a guide (like I did lmao).

If you're having trouble clicking on Aetherytes from the map (especially behind sidequests and such), you can hold Alt and the Aetherytes will go over other icons and become easier to click.

That makes sense as to why I never saw the ghost, I completed f50 of palace before I did tam-tara. But that's such a neat Easter egg. I love Edda and her story. Palace f50 concludes the story

The moment you see the amount of side quests Kou hasn’t taken yet. Even while he has noted a few of those side quests with random rewards. Who knows what else he is missing…

For the echo thing in the chat window, you can macro actions that does dots to have it remind you to reapply it after X seconds , you can add sound effects to it as well, it's very useful for bard

He didn't mention the side quest series you can do in Ishgarde to get a glasses adjust emote.

Another, possible, thing: In Central Thanalan there is an Outlook above "The Cotter & Coffin" saying: "All is clear on the western front". This might be a reference to the Anti-War Novel "Im Westen nichts Neues" or in English "All Quiet on the Western Front".

The /echo stuff helps me with audio cues for skill cooldowns since you can also add the commands in it

One of my favorite extras is that if you leveled your trusts in EW dungeons, each scion will have special interactions with certain bosses, even if they aren’t supposed to be in that dungeon. The first boss of Ktisis in particular has a few funny ones.

Someone in a random linkshell I joined figured it out and I couldn't find anything else online, so here y'all go! Two macros- one to toggle names on, one off. (Doesn't include friends, party, etc.) Off- /nameplatedisp other 4 On- /nameplatedisp other 1 Limsa and Alliance raids have never been more peaceful :))

see, the sad part about this, I knew all of these. there's even a chance you can accidentally find your own retainer out in the world if you have them sent out on a gathering mission. I have found my retainers 3 times, one mining and 2 chopping/harvesting, but I have yet to find one of my fishers out fishing.

There a yellow quests that give minions too! A Cactuar Cutting in the Sagoli Desert and a wolf pup and cuerl kitten in Aleport.

For controller players to select NPCs in crowded areas just have your character face the NPC and press X on your controller to select them.

In sycus tower Scylla also has an add phase we don't get to see cuz dps is too good. ;) Those lighting orbs that spawn are also apart of a mechanic we don't see. You take those orbs to charge the tower generator things. Adds come out, we kill our adds and each alliance then has to stands on their button so the entire raid doesn't get petrified. If your tower didn't get enough power your button won't work. :D Don't miss those days at all. Glad we skip all that mess on most these bosses 😊

Back in the beginning of HW, there was a bug in mist that you were able to throw yourself out of the map, and we were able to see some leftovers of the alliance or could be even the alliance itself being constructed, and also in HW, void ark rarely appeared in the sky and people were speculating what this could be.

For the Syrcus Tower one with Glasya Labolas, I think there's even a wipe or at least a death for a player that somehow involves the outer ring. Could be wrong, though, might be a different part of Crystal Tower raids or another boss, I only did them once for the story and it didn't happen to my group. Here's a fact about my first Alliance Raid: I died to mechanics that I literally couldn't see. With my perfect preparation, I completely ignored the HUD, the alliance party HUDs were right in the center of my screen and made it impossible to see what the enemy did. I turned them off completely after a while, but not before dying several times to the same boss and the same move. Didn't know most other things in this video, I'm still ignoring the side content in favor of MSQ, will reach Endwalker tomorrow.

Controller doesn't really need to hide names to target an NPC because the interact X/A button automatically targets the nearest NPC around Very useful in patch day when nobody is giving Zero personal space

Controller player here (console really) : the "X" trick is not needed for us as it is *our base way of targetting* . That's right, even if playing Lalafel on patch day we can select NPCs without overthinking anything. Helped me get our first FC house back when you had to spam, as a dumbo with a macro got annoyed at us "legitimate" players getting in his way to force him trying to "buy" us instead. He decided to stand with his huge mount on the spot to "get back at us" but my console-player arse could click right through so... (Yeah, I agree that clicking for hours is nothing to be proud about. But if the other means are literally inaccessible for a chunck of the player base, I *personnaly* think it fairer to not use the abusive tools. Thus am somewhat proud of that house snap.)

this is probably a more commonly known easter egg but the Wind-up Nidhogg and Wind-up Estinien minions fight eachother when they're in close enough proximity. unfortunately, the other wind-up great wyrms (Wind-up Hraesvelgr and Wind-up Vrtra) don't interact with anything or eachother in any way (yes I've tried). here's hoping they might someday add a Wind-up Azdaja, Tiamat, Ratatoskr, and Bahamut (that isn't long locked behind an original soundtrack) along the same vein, the Wind-up Lyna and Wind-up Mystel minions interact and it's kinda sad if you think about it too hard :' )

There are glam rewards locked behind bronze quests, too.

I use some alt key combinations for skills myself, and kept fat fingering the chat binds in the heat of combat and type a giant string of something like "aasdwwwwdssss11111222223333asswwwaadddww" until I realized what I had done, so I went in and removed all those ones.

Ever since the last patch, my X/NPC bind hasn't been working. I've changed it to different letters, added alt or ctrl...and still nothing. It's horrible.

They removed Eddas party from outside the dungeons. Made me sad, used to see them outside of sastasha and Tam tara.

Knew all those things except the blacklist macro.....because I'm too lazy to blacklist literally anyone >_> Also, the X to make NPCs easier to target thing. That also works on maps for aetherytes but with ctrl (for me anyway, I don't think I've rebound it) if the hub is covered in side quests.

the /echo thing works with sound effects! super helpful in crafting macros. for example, you just put a /echo Craft finished on the bottom line of the macro and it'll do bongos when the macro ends :D

For controller players, we usually customize our target priorities. For me, I make a dedicated shortcut to only target NPCs, signs, and objects.

Here's a fun one, after completing the Omega raid storyline, you can randomly Find Alpha and Mini Omega in specific places across the land. Id look up the various places because there's a decent amount.
