I think you are forgetting that even with all of that that it took years of persistence from Leonard just to get Penny to give him a shot. So the disbelief is pretty accurate as stereotypical nerds we are used to at best going unnoticed by beautiful women, and at worst being humiliated for even thinking we have a shot with anyone above our station. Every once in a long while however a woman is born who is actually attracted to nerds. So seeing one for us is like discovering the holy grail.

The issue is the time between roles though. And it doesn't seem like she's getting many. I dunno, I didn't watch the show this far in.

“I think it’s hot.” Hahaha!😂 I actually think this is a really good example of both of them supporting and protecting each other. Leonard is excited and supportive for her autograph signing. And Penny supports him for being so excited about the change maker. This doesn’t seem like a big deal, but a lot of people get excitement over small things, and by people who don’t share their excitement, which Penny doesn’t appear to share his excitement for the change maker. So for Penny to just let him enjoy it, without making fun of him, or putting a stop to it in any way is being supportive. Then when the guy tried to sexually harass Penny, Leonard stepped up and successfully stopped it by using humor to change the subject, and he did it in a way that wasn’t demeaning or controlling of Penny . (Whether Penny was okay with the guy asking her to kiss him or not, it was still very predatory and completely unacceptable. Then when the guys turned to make fun of Leonard for wearing a change maker, Penny stands up for him, also by using humor, and she did it in a way that was flattering to Leonard. This was pretty cute.

It's a KZfaq comment, not someone shouting in your ear, so it wasn't interfering with the way you experienced the video. A LOT of couples fail at the basics of supporting and protecting eachother. It would be easy to laugh with the "fans" and make fun of Leonard. Whose extremely excited to hype her up. But she doesn't. And you're right this is really the most solid evidence that they're actually a decent couple in the series. Through all the dysfunctional relationships of the show, the core of them is to be there for one another.

yea but show really went downhill when Kaley Cucco and Johny Galecki broke up. Now it shouldn't matter what the actors are doing privatly, but unfortunately it did, Kaley's acting changed a lot, it wasn't beliverble that they were in love. Had they played an old married couple that had started to drift apart it would have worked, but they were supposed to be newly weed in the honeymoon phase of their relationship

They screwed every female character after they got involved in a serious relationship. Penny, Bernadette and Amy became exteremely manipulative and mean b*tches. Sugar-daddies are depraved immoral and sick, and sugar-mummies are no better. The goal is a relationship between equals, and they failed in showing us that

We know the characters of Penny and Leonard way better than the people they meet. To them she’s a very conventionally attractive woman who looks like a typical kind of “popular girl” and Leonard is a nerdy guy who probably falls into the stereotypes that a nerdy dude does. So from a strangers perspective, it’s unbelievable, but from what we as the audience know, Leonard is incredibly caring and regardless of looks and stereotypes, he is someone that we as an audience can be like “he’s a great partner”. I like this show for that reason. If you just watch one episode, you’ll see and get the stereotypes, but if you’re a careful watcher, their storyline reveals that Leonard is usually the better partner. I think Penny is a wonderful character who is pretty “normal”. She’s young and her relationships have usually been with terrible people so her behavior in her relationship with Leonard shows us she has to heal in some aspects. Whereas Leonard is incredibly smart and grew up with a mother that one way or another made him into the type of partner he is.

Because it is a story just as untrue as any Tolkien or Gary Gygax could come up with. The whole show is a joke for existing. It was made for non-nerds to pretend they are nerds and that all the ones they made fun of in school of course went on to live amazing successful lives and got a woman who looks like Penny so it's ok to laugh when they say "goblins" or when they say something "super smart" like co-valent bonds... haha those nerds are all right... we didnt ruin their lives and self esteem at all.

Leonard and Penny are a perfect couple because inspite of their earlier scars, troubles, shortcomings and constant tantrums, they made each other the best versions of themselves by the end of the show, especially Penny having a huge character development by the end. They took 12 yrs to fix all the issues plaguing them. Love takes a LOT of work, but the way you speak seems like you have never been in a relationship, so you wouldn't know.

Leonard is an educated, gainfully employed man. He earns good money. Penny, for most of the time on the show, was a waitress. Her marrying Leonard because he's a good provider is not out of the realm of being reasonable despite her being hot. Also, let's not pretend it wasn't until the later seasons when he started putting on a little pudge that Leonard was an ugly dude anyway.

What I love about this show is that even though it’s a comedy and not a dramedy, the nerds are not stereotypical like on “Saved by the Bell” or “Family Matters.” Instead, their nerdiness is subtle like with Kevin Arnold’s friend Paul on “The Wonder Years.”

I've always hated Penny and Leonard's relationship. Even after they freaking get married she can't stop criticizing him. Just a jokes like "I'm the only lady that would be impressed by that" when Leonard goes "How much change for the lady?" could have made their chemistry more believable.

They forgot to mention..how much Penny took advantage of Leonard's nice nature... Helped her financially and gave free food..paid her cc bills Sheldon wasn't even that good to her..often ridiculed her and called her a freeloader!
