You should be mad about Risk of Rain 2 on console

You should be mad about the treatment the console version has been getting. Make your disappointment and anger heard. DO NOT HARASS. Simple tell the developers that this isn't fair, that we deserve updates about progress, and that the rebuilt/DLC needs to be out ASAP. We, as a player base, should not have to wait this long. #riskofrain2 #console #riskofrain ‪@Hopoo_Games‬

The twitter of risk of rain is constantly being reminded of "console update when?" Hopoo streams on twitch sometimes and the guy said that "we don't know, that is up to gearbox now, but their priority is the DLC and update." And you are right, just because they are an indie developer, doesn't mean we shouldn't give them a pass. PC was clearly the favor than the consoles

You saying that made me rethink, Gearbox owns the Risk of Rain IP, that means they are now responsible for the games. If anything, since Gearbox is a bigger company, they should have it out even faster. or at the very least, give hopoo some update news, anything really, to pass on to the community. Cause I no I don't give a shit about gearbox, but I sure do care and watch what Hopoo games are doing/saying.

@@TheSunDuude I say the same thing. The bigger the company with more employees, the faster the update should be announced, but nothing. And Hopoo giving out their own IP to Gearbox mid upgrading the console version makes me think will there ever be an update. There hasn't been a major update since the anniversary. Honestly at this point, Hopoo is shilling for Gearbox. They seem to always say positive things about them about how they're the ones who made the new maps in survivors lf the void. Made the void jailers, etc. Even Hopoo said that they ran out of ideas for the game which is BS, the game isn't even done yet. How? Well, there was suppose to be a prize of some sort for the players who do the challenge mode games where it's stated to have some kind of prize.

I do think there will be an update, but they are waiting to release it with the DLC. If that ever comes. But yeah it really seems that they are selling out. It makes no sense tho. They had good games have sold a amount of copies other indie developers could only dream of. Thw game has so much potental, which we can see from the community alone.

@@TheSunDuude honestly, I rather have the update first so we can have a functional game, and crossplay. Money talks, Gearbox must have given them a large sum of money that will keep them afloat for the rest of their lives which would out pay their customers. It's a shame really, RoR2 has so much potential to be better and bigger.

@@TheSunDuudeyou'd think that but I really doubt there's more than 10 employees working on it at most. It seems like they're putting all the eggs in the basket for the next borderlands which looks to be coming in late 2024-Mid 2025. Which I cant blame them on. Borderlands is their poster child, big money maker and the game franchise they seem to put a lot of love into. Think the main thing they're struggling with is getting the story right as the last 2 dropped the ball there.

Ok let me help you out. about the console situation, they have to rebuild the ENTIRE GAME from the ground up, it’s gonna be out this year in Q3 (so like 2-4 months from now) but I have to give gearbox some credit, you couldn’t rebuild a game as complex as ROR2.

I learned about and first got the game on Switch not long after 1.0 released. It was almost immediately one of my favorite games. Got ror1 not long after and loved it just as much! Didn't learn about the console bugs in both until later. Got burnt out for a few months and when I came back learned pc had an update. I couldn't wait to play Bandit, he looked so fun in 3d! Little did I know it would be so many more months until console got it, with such a broken release... it was a really painful wait. About a month before SotV came out I decided to get it on pc so I wouldn't have to wait "months" longer for the dlc, and because mods looked really fun. My poor laptop doesn't run the game very well, but it was enough, and the new content was indeed cool. I eventually also got ror1 on pc for mods, and Starstorm was totally worth it. Highly recommend it to anyone who wants to play the first game. I ended up preferring it over ror2 too, so I'm very excited for rorr. Anyway, back to ror2. It really sucks that console players have had to wait for such a long time for the dlc, but seeing every Hopoo comment section full of nothing but people demanding that they work faster on the game they no longer own gets tiring. I may have been able to "just get it on steam lol" but not everyone can, and they deserve to be able to play it not only with all the newest content, but in a state where everything functions as it's intended to. I hope Gearbox does something soon, their update to an existing game is seemingly progressing slower than the remake that based on the teasers has been being worked on ever since ror2 was in early access... they could at least acknowledge it or give an estimate for its release so we aren't 100% in the dark about everything Tldr: as a former console player Gearbox really needs to do something soon, though they can't really control when Hopoo releases rorr Edit: they acknowledged it! It's not much but knowing that work is happening is nice

Hopoo is now completely divorced from ror2, so gearbox does have full control over it.

For PS4 it was one of the only few online games I played and it was so fun and alive when I first got it. Now I am flabbergasted to check on this game every few months to see no update and the online mode is dead and barely working if you do find players.

Console games have been neglected for years and now that most people are switching to PC it's just going to make us (console players) more neglected, and as someone who lives in a dead zone in terms of internet and literally cannot get a PC because of that, it absolutely sucks.

I am actually heartbroken, I love this game so much like I've been playing since ror1s release... I was so excited for the dlc but now I'm kinda numb to it ig and I've seen so much of the dlc already the how ever much money the dlc cost won't feel worth it tbh, don't get me wrong the dlc is amazing n so much content but I already know a lot and it sucks cause I didn't even try to figure it out, I just watched risk of rain content and found stuff out through others playing on pc. Just I want it and it gonna suck having to pay money and wait this long for it. My passion for this game is practically none and I have little to no hope n yeh.

while I do recommend getting it on Switch, your better off on PC because of performance issues. I've had anxiety attacks from my Switch lagging drom the shear chaos that unfolds after over an hour of surviving! im happily enjoying the game and seeing the secrets, but the performance takes a huge toll sometimes

It's saddening that an entire community is forced to bow down and wait like dogs getting a treat. It's been an ENTIRE YEAR and console is still behind in both just quality of life with the update and the DLC! Pretty soon they'll just get rid of the console version entirely because people didn't come back when they were forced to wait and watch what we're missing out on from afar. Hopoo/Gearbox need to do something soon before nobody comes back and the game is as good as dead for everyone.

I do still play it because 24 days of play time doesnt go away, but i gor bored waiting 3 months for the anniversary update, but gearbox was handed free money, if they actual cared like hopoo claims, they would put more resources to it or give more updates. It has been more than a year but people can't seem to realize how bad this treatment is. I agree, we are being treated like dogs.

Yeah if we didn’t wait about a year straight, so yeah, that’s the biggest fat excuse I ever heard from a console player perspective even am a console player plus to add to that they didn’t need to bring it to the ground up why because are games mad by pc so yeah they can release it at anytime.

Porting the game isn't easy as is rebuilding the game, they can't just snap their fingers and poof dlc. They're doing what they can without rushing it a buggy mess.
