The whole side of that family disowns him except his Aunt, who has fought to be in his life for 8 years now. It's a little awkward for me,but it's not about me. I think his aunt is amazing. I am a Mom of 3. Our youngest son was granted custody to us from the judge when he was 4 months old. He is now 18. His birth parents were ordered to pay child support to us. We never saw a dime. FF to 2012, I received a letter from Child Support Court. Stating that we could go back to court and continue fighting over $ we knew neither one of them had. My son who was 9 at the time asked me to just drop the case, because in his words, "Mom, all my needs are met and so,are my wants." Coincidentally my 1st husband and I divorced after 20 years of marriage. I never asked for a dime from him either. My ex-husband and I are still the best of friends and co-parent beautifully. I remarried in 2013, and lost my husband in 2018.
