Not only is your Snowy Forest just fine, but I actually like it better! I hate when the yoke is too deep, otherwise every time you lift your arms the whole sweater lifts up. Now you can play with the yoke depth to fit as you like it. You are making me want to knit this sweater! It is so gorgeous!

I totally agree about the trend of armholes hitting below the under-bust ~ or even down around the waist line. How does a person function when their arms are stuck down around their hips like little penguin flippers? I love the Snowy Forest design, but I'm debating adding it to my library because of all the time and work involved in rewriting the yoke depth & where to split the sleeves... to make it wearable for me.

I think, on me, your same depths cables would look better than the increasing depth ones of the original. I have a large bust and think the bigger cables at the bust would just make my chest look bigger than it already is. Not necessarily a bad thing, but not my preference on me. I think your cables look lovely as they are. What a great yarn-pattern combo! It’s nice that you are interested in hearing what we are all knitting on. As for current projects, I’m working on a Lanark for my husband. It’s taking a lot of knitting because of the HFR and also because my row gauge is only about 2/3rds of that stated in the pattern. That makes for a more dense knit, I think. Watching Rebecca’s review of most-worn sweaters this morning, her Lanarks look far more open-gauged than mine. The yarn is a merino possum blend from Australia - it’s gorgeous and squishy so am hoping all the purling will be worth it in the end. It should be super-warm, which is good for our living conditions. We live in a big old cold house in Yorkshire - my husband always tells visitors ‘Bring warm sweaters and wear your long-sleeved bra!’ 😂

Ellen Lewis from Crazy for Ewe taught me to pick a size based on UPPER bust like under your underarms if you are over a C cup bra. This helps the sweater not look way too big at the end. Every time I don't follow that I am pissed my sweater looks huge. Maybe this can help you pick a size for your Snowy Forest!!! Thank you for sharing as always

I love how you are modifying the Snowy Forest pullover! The " mistake" you made would make it more wearable for me as deep yoke sweaters tend to lift too much at the bottom when iraise my arms. Adjusting the raglan area is perfect. Love the circular yoke with raglan increases for that feature. Wow! Thank you so much for the tutorial doing short rows in the ribbing area!

I have a question about the cables getting longer on the yoke: "Are y'all going to carry a picture of the pattern around with you whenever you wear the sweater and tell everyone 'this is how the cables were written, but I made it my own'?" If not, all people are going to see is what a talented knitter you are, and how amazing you look in *your version* of the sweater.

Also thank you for sharing how you do short-row shaping in neck ribbing, because I also hate wearing sweaters without short rows at the neck and try to avoid such patterns. I love the color you chose for your sweater spin. Assuming your braids are 4 ounces each I would recommend you get a few more more braids. I wear a medium sweater and would not try to get a long cardigan out of 16 ounces of fiber. With spinning your yarn tends to be denser and therefore your weight does not go as far. For comparison, I spun 8 ounces of a DK weight, fiber, and I’m not sure I can get a Tolsta tee out of it.

If you haven’t already you should watch the Black Sheep Knitter episode 1 at about 9:50 she talks about her dilemma with the sweater then in episode 2 at about 35:55 and then finally episode 3. Hopefully it will help you avoid sadness.

Hi Kaci, thank you for an other beautiful episode. I think I got the handspun bug 😅 you had mentioned in an other episode that you took some online classes (if I remember correctly). Would it be possible to share those with me please or maybe refer me to an episode that you did mention it? Have a nice day!

Hi Kaci, I have tried to buy the kaleidoscope sweater kit a few times but wasn’t able to. Did you get it as a kit or did you make your own kit ? Thanks so much ❤

adding short rows is great accomodation esp beacuse with warm sweater you don't want a big opening - you'd probably wear it when cold.... but I would go back and do each cable set longer - yours doesn't look strange or bad or anything because of that equal cables- just "too normal" - you loose a beautiful feature of the design- my opinion, sorry
