One of the rules in your 48th laws of power tho the "court attention at all cost" is quite strange , knowing that most ppl that are manipulative and in control are the ones barely recognizable since they control everything in the shadows , they appear average but there cunning so drawing attention will only make you a target of envy hate and sabotage as you mentioned "never appear too perfect" as i come to understand not only perfect but making anyone feel lesser than you is a dangerous thing. I read your reversal about the topic, but still find it rather strange that you put it that way rather than focusing about how to blend in unnoticeably , and for the reversal to be to court attention in some cases such as around ones that are either dependant on you or cannot pose any threat to you when handling them very well ...non the less the book was close to literal perfection , simple yet so meaningful.

Crossed arms are often seen as closed of, but it also means that the person gives you full attention and shuts the rest of signing to be occupied. So maybe it's better to observe if the vibes of words, action, body language match. Definetly interested in learning more :-)

That's how they caught this murderer. The reporter asked him if he killed this girl, he said no but shook his head yes. The father saw it on TV told the cops to watch the clip and the cops was on to him

When people talk about body language? they never consider autism. My facial expressions & body language DO NOT reflect my actual feelings. Neither do I understand the body language or facial expressions of others. Body language DOES lie.

Not just autism but mental health too, especially personality disorders and schizophrenia. Flat affect can impact anyone. I mean body language is not black and white. Take it with a grain of salt.
@kahyui2486
@kahyui2486 Жыл бұрын
I would also argue that it's rather easy, after you have spent time around the autistic individual, that you can read their body language. Reading body language doesn't mean we can mind read what's in your head. It means that what came out of your mouth doesn't align with your true feelings. It's easy to spot and everyone, including autistic people are predictable, once u spend enough time around a person u can pick up on their honest and dishonest reactions

I feel you are contradicting with the guest speaker and other people who commented. If you don't know how to read the body lunguage of others, how can you know people’s true feeling? In addition, it could be possible that your body language may show your true feeling and it may be different from the feeling which you thought you had? Your thought may be connected with your logical thinking, and not from your true feeling. For example, you thought you were feeling sad, but your true feeling was anger and the body language showed that you were angry. You may be disconnected from your true feeling. My husband is like that. He relies heavily on people’s words as he can not read the body language and he thinks the body language lies, but he is a logical thinker and can not easily express his feelings. If he does, his feeling does not match with the current context.

@Yuki Sanderson You haven't read my comment, have you? My body lamguage DOES NOT match up to my feelings. People think I'm nervous when I'm happy. People think I'm happy when I'm sad. Even my own mum can not read my body language. No one ever takes autism into account. How can I understand body language when I don't think like you at all?

Robert's ideas are so simple minded. As a chronic introvert, my body language comes from so many different places. Leaning away doesn't have to mean "I don't like you", it could simply mean "i'm tired, try again later", or "I'm awkward be patient", etc.

What ppl misunderstand with body language is that it’s ONE language it’s not. Body language is more like Human language, in which there’s English, Spanish, French, etc. In English I can say, “Damn, she’s bad.” Or “Damn, she’s bad?” And you have no idea what I’m actually saying unless you had more context. Bc there’s no less than 3 interpretations of those 2 sentences. Same with crossed arms & legs, etc. taking in the surrounding info will give more context to body language.
