I did several weeks of research and settled for precisely the same watch in early 2022. I did get the stainless bracelet. Love the watch. It loses about 1 second a day which I find remarkable for a mechanical watch under $500. I love this watch!

Wore this watch for most of the duration of my military service and it’s also a watch I wear with a suit, because i don’t own a real dress watch. It’s been through hell and I love it. (I also wore a G-shock in the military and got a Marathon GSAR during the latter end of my service)

Wear a mechanical Khaki Field myself. Tradition...hugely important! And, to be brutally frank, never saw the point of gifting a Rolex to the guy who killed me!

I have it with both the metal bracelet and the original brown leather strap. And let me tell you it looks way better with the leather strap. I wore it with the metal strap for 6 months and the first day I put the leather strap on. Bam! First compliment.

This is also the first (proper) watch I ever bought with my own money. It's timeless and versatile. Personally, I'm not a fan of bracelets. It sits on a custom full-grain leather one-piece strap and I've never hesitated wearing it with any look; from pubs, to gigs, to committee meetings. It gets the compliments.

great story.. Me too, I admired this watch for a long time. I finally pulled the trigger last year and is very satisfied since. I own the ETA version and decided to keep it (at least for now) as I appreciate higher frequency more than power reserve. But all-in-all, it really is a stunning looking watch!

This is my 1st watch of this caliber. Mine is actually arriving tomorrow. I started looking for a nice watch to fit my smaller wrist,6.5 inches. All of a sudden I stumbled into this fascinating world of auto watches. I zeroed in on the 37mm longines spirit aviation blue dial. But being the man of my family, I couldnt see spending over 2 grand on myself. So after alot of research and learning about the swiss made being the best, here I am getting this 675 dollar Hamilton for 475 arriving tom. I cant remember getting so interested in something so quick. But here I am. Great video by the way. Mine is coming with the black leather strap. Im already looking at different straps to change it out with.

The constant harping on the lack of AR coating drives me a little crazy. Like, come on. Even watches with AR coating pick up glare sometimes. And even without it, at the absolute worst you might have to tilt your wrist slightly to read the dial in certain lighting conditions. This is seriously a dealbreaker for people?

I know, it’s hilarious. I have this watch and spend as much time in the sun as possible. A slight shift of the wrist fixes the issue.

I got my Hamilton on strap too, and really wish I got it on bracelet - can't find an OEM one anywhere, so I think I'm gonna do the Strapcode one! Thanks for showing that, super helpful

@@ludoludo4334 yes you can take it off very easily with a spring bar tool. The watch will fit any 20mm strap 👍🏻

Excellent video. I too love this watch,and really appreciate your tip on the strapcode bracelet. The mechanical version on the bracelet w/ white dial is also a new addition and different enough from this to make sense. Cheers.

I had one of these. But it only had 50M WR which struck me as stupid for a field watch. Also, you local watchmaker cannot regulate it. I sold it and got a Momentum Atlas Automatic.

I have the same watch. Purchased it on the bracelet around 3 year's ago. Its my favourite watch. Ive tried it on various different straps but it always ends up back on it's bracelet. Only 2 things that im not happy with. The lume sucks and the crystal fogs up pretty easy. Other than that its perfect.

@Watches with George hi. Yes it does fog up on the inside. Has been ever since new. I've looked it up and several people experience the same issue, send the watch back and get case back gaskets and crown gaskets changed etc and have the same issue happen again, so I have never bothered with it. I shower with all my watches and never have any issues except this one.

@@rob45x interesting..that is the first time I hear about something like that on a Hamilton. I guess gaskets don't usually do the same jos as a screw down crown or case back.

From what I've read, the hot water and steam in the shower can present a problem for the gaskets.

Should i wind my Hamilton Khaki Field auto everyday by just few turns clockwise? Or manually winding is just for when it stops after it runs out of power?

Hey there. What I do when I want to wear a watch that has been sitting in a box and has stopped, I give it two turns to start the movement and set the watch and then just wear it, you don't need to wind it every day of you wear it .. it will hold power

Had this watch for a few years. It was great, but I fell out of love with it and sold it. I don't miss it, but I still appreciate this for the great watch it is. However, I used the money to buy a rare watch that I love; Seiko SARB045 (blue kit kat hands SARB). For me, it was well worth selling the Hamilton. Cheers.

The biggest issue with this watch and other hamiltons is that the movement cannot be adjusted or regulated if it goes out of sync. AFAIK these need to be sent back to the factory to get them regulated.

Any watchmaker can regulate it without any problem, even there is a video on youtube how to do it so it is not true it has to be sent to the factory.

The watch can be regulated by some watchmakers with some experience behind the job. You dont have to send it to the AD.

Is it possible to change the reflective domed glass to a anti- reflective Sapphire Crystal ? It’s the only issue which is a deal breaker for me.

This watch is meant to be worn on a leather strap. On a bracelet, it looks super basic and dull imho.

Hi Kyle, this is a Strapcode Bracelet, made for the Alpinist but , works for the Hamilton also. Strapcode will advertise the compatibility on the website!

@@KyleDavisMusic I wish I had the answer to that. I suspect they won't be compatible as the fact the Strapcode bracelet works is just a great coincidence not specifically made for part compatibility. Trust me, the Bracelet from Strapcode fits it like it came from the same factory. Hope this helps!

Got rid of the watch within a week, visibility is bad and lume is bad with no screwdown. For a field watch too much negatives for me at this price. Lots of other brands and even microbrands that does so much better
