I feel like this song doesn't explain the level of crying you do when watching this show

Your Lie in April hit me harder than anything I think I've ever watched before. I'm the sort of person who gets really wrapped up in the shows I watch, and I get invested in them. I'm very familiar with the twinge of pain and sadness that comes with the ending of a series after several good seasons, but nothing could prepare me for what YLiA left me with after just twenty-two episodes. Warning: There might be some spoilers ahead, I'll try to avoid them. YLiA tells us a story about something we all experience at some point in our lives, self-doubt. Sure there's a lot more to the story than that, but that seems to be the main theme. Kousei doubts his ability to play piano, Tsubaki doubts her own feelings, Kaori doubts her ability to fight her illness, in fact, it seems the only character who rarely shows any doubt is Watari, and even he had that scene where he broke down in a bathroom stall questioning his ability to lead his team. I know that I personally struggle with a lot of self-doubt, and perhaps that's why this show resonates so well with me. I may not be a piano prodigy trying to find a way to play despite being unable to hear the notes, but I am a human being, and I do make mistakes, and I do hurt, and I do question my own abilities. Kousei's support structure is incredible, and one thing this show helps me to do is identify those most important pillars in my life on whom I can count to carry me through the struggles I face. YLiA reminds you that whenever you feel the world getting the better of you, whenever you can't hear the notes to the song you're playing, whenever you feel like you're drowning at the bottom of the ocean, look for those who support you. Find your Watari, who will always help you set your sights on victory, and who believes you can achieve anything. Find your Tsubaki, who will never leave your side and wants nothing more than to see you happy. Find your Seto who provides you with the knowledge and wisdom you require to accomplish whatever road blocks life throws in your path. And find your Kaori, who will push you past the point where you would give up and then pushes you some more, and who brings the color back into your life when things fade to grayscale. I rarely see Your Lie in April make lists of "Top Ten Animes" and the like, but it sits securely at the top my list. Sure, it lacks giant mechs and huge explosions. It doesn't feature supernatural creatures or magical abilities. It's not set in the future or the past. It's not an escape from reality. What it is, is real life. It's the battles that we as humans in the 21st century face every day. It's the people in our lives, and it's the joy and the pain they cause us. It's the lies we tell, and the courage we find to tell the truth. If you haven't seen it yet, I simply cannot recommend it enough. Twenty-two episodes, approximately twenty-two minutes a piece, we're talking just eight hours of your life. Please, please, please watch this show. If you have seen it, then I'm sure you know exactly where I'm coming from, and if you're like me, you too have found some strength in the experience. It isn't something transcendent, and it won't open up your mind to new dimensions, but it will tug at your heartstrings, and it will remind you to love those whom you care most about while you still can, our time on this planet is limited, sometimes tragically so.

I came here trying to find an english version of Hikaru Nara. When It transitioned into Nanairo Symphony, I immediately remembered how Kaori changes a song and it hit me hard. Edit: Now I've finished the song, it's absolutely fantastic

When I was barely 15 years old I was in a relationship. But we drifted apart and broke up without ever really breaking up. I listened to these songs often, having recently finished the anime. Well over two years later, I'm well into being 17 and I have had two more heartbreaks in the last 6 months. Two exes cheating on me and moving on while I'm still hung up on every relationship, missing who they once were. Even now that I've gotten with someone else who makes me so happy. I can't let go of the love that I hold for everyone I've ever known. Even all those who hurt and/or leave me. It's sorta funny how my love life has basically come full circle. Like an era has come to an end. And hopefully things will be better as my memories fade. No matter how much I fear losing my past I should let it go.

Just finished the show and oh my goodness. I am not one to shed a tear to a show or movie but in the last two episodes I cried so much. That show was so emotional for me.

I just finished this show after two days I’m crying so hard

I listen to this on the school bus , and I couldn't help it but like a tear dripped down my face and a boy goes "did it reach her?" I was like omfg he knows your lie in April, my volume was up full blast and he was sat next to me so he could hear the music. I haven't been that shook in a while.

Graduated college just this past 2020 but have fond memories of this cover from when I was a Freshman and listened to this song. Even back then I was thinking about the “magic of those ordinary days” and how I needed to enjoy every moment of college because, before I know it, it will come to and end. Now I’m listening to it back again and remembering that the past 4 years really did seem magical and I miss that time in my life so much.

I just finished this anime, it was amazing. It taught me that you don't need to talk to convey strong emotions, simply amazing. It was a masterpiece and definitely wont be forgotten. It definitely reached me.

I still can't get over this medlee, this anime, and how well the medlee reflects the emotions of the anime. Don't think I ever will.

There is one word that truly describes this anime, "beautiful". Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso, or Your Lie in April was a show that took me by complete surprise. I came in expecting just a simple romantic comedy anime with some music thrown in, but it is FAR more than just that. It's stunning animation and breathtaking musical score are enough to leave you in awe. But what really mesmerizes you are the shows brilliantly played drama and magnificent main characters, Kaori and Kousei. I don't know if the show is amongst the greatest of dramas ever, nor the most original of them. Even so, Your Lie in April played a melody that touched my heart and became something that I won't be forgetting anytime soon.

tbh, this anime changed my life. i was kinda of a bully when in middle school. but a nerd showed me this anime and i started to be good, i know it feels weird but everytime i did it it makes me feel good, also i watch this anime every april. my life has started to be good when i start this anime. and tbh when the first time i watch this, i have depression a week after finnishing the anime. but i want to say this. Thank You So Much Naoshi Arakawa (the creator of this anime) Thank You for everyone by my side, Thank You So Much Shigatsu wa kimi no uso. To be honest i cried in tears while typing this coment. i hope this changed someone's life to :D

I binged the whole anime and only heard the openings and endings in Japanese-now the meaning makes so much sense and there’s so much foreshadowing in the words! This is like the first anime I ever watched and it is beautiful 💕I love everything about it-from the poetry to the beautiful representation of classical music to the amazing plot! Thank you for the medley so I can re-experience all the feels 😆😭💕
