Showing us how you are building a relationship of trust with Mowgley is super! The relaxation and letting the horse enjoy his work is so often overlooked when riders are focused on reaching their goals. Thank you for making this the foundation of your training and sharing it with us. Challenging little by little with maximum reward and relaxation and allowing horse to think about things they are doing is a wonderful concept. Your kind approach is so obviously the best approach! Forcing horses never seemed to be a good way of training, and I'm so glad you allow the horse to respond without correction. Ignoring any negative response seems to be far more effective - not bringing attention to the negative. Wow! I am learning soooooooo much!

Seeing Mowgley work through learning his new job is so great! I love how you point out when he finds something difficult. I love that you are teaching the head popping up, ears back and tail swishes are because it’s hard for him. Not him being difficult or naughty.

I watch this video so often that my hubby recognizes it:p Really inspired by how u advocate understanding the horse & continuously troubleshoot to help the horse, not only to strengthen & straighten his body, but also to gain confidence & trust. Mowgley has transformed so tremendously! Very enlightening explanation on why & how each exercise helps the horse. Mind blowing tip on how to encourage the horse to canter on by helping him in 2 point rather than punishing him by kicking! Rewarding him for his effort to understand the aids for canter even in the wrong lead by letting him canter forward into a trot and a pat instead of pulling him into a trot to stop the canter! The video on counter-flexion explanation is very helpful. Thanks! I have difficulty in recognizing the problems and so, have problem troubleshooting. But that boils down to riding practice. Hope to take more lessons soon. Super video!

I loved this video because it was so relatable. It validated that needing to repeat exercises is not about repeating failure but about developing your patience as a rider and allowing your horse to make mistakes on the journey to success. I learned so much. However I want to say it was hard to pick between this and meeting your friend. She was really lovely and I definitely would enjoy seeing her ride again and progress on her journey.

Absolutely fantastic! I have been watching with interest and you have helped immensely. I have an OTTB that came off the track calm. 4 years and 4 trainers he was a total unrideable mess unless he had a neck stretcher on. We have good trot leg yields and shoulder fore. Hacking. The canter is still scary. You have given me some good points to work on it slowly

I am so happy to have found this channel! I've watched so many videos trying to improve my dressage training/riding and this is the first channel where each video actually gives me an "ah ha" moment with something I can use in my day to day riding. Your way of explaining what you are doing and also bringing each lesson down to a level that even an amateur rider can learn from is amazing. I love that you show the "not perfect" moments and help everyone understand that it is not always "rainbows and unicorns" while training a horse or training yourself. I will be working my way through all of your videos and can't wait for more! If you ever find time to make your way to the US to do a clinic I would love to ride with you

Mowgley has improved so much, especially with the contact. Also love how you hardly move in the saddle during those tricky canter transitions and on such a forward canter!

What I love about how you are training him is how you are setting him up for success, not just with his dressage, but in his life with whoever is lucky enough to end up with him. I just think it is so cool how much are and thought you are putting into every aspect of him and the difference in him in such a short time is so cool to see.

The door tricks are always my favorite! Especially with gates extra its really helpful and obviously keeps them Happy and entertained! ❤️

Let’s just take me and my horse: - we had some issues with walk-canter - > your “shoulder in» before the canter helped - We had beautiful trot - > your leg yield made it special - We have suppling issues -> your exercises (you got us a lot of them) helped so much - We have half pass issues -> your approach regarding pyramid makes us stronger - We had some unevenness in both hands -> your suggestion to “move the bit” helped us to balance. Now your suggestion about renvers made our connection even better. You have armed us with so much useful skills in a simple, available to everyone way. Really you are the best coach I’ve ever seen. He’s looking great! Would love if you’d do a problem solving video surrounding the contact. You make it look so easy but know there’s so much that goes in to it and it’s hard to know what’s the correct response to different evasions when they’re new to going correctly.

I guess that tells us all we need to know about your training.also want to say thank you for uploading so often they always come at just the right time

I find this absolutely amazing how you managed in such a short time to get him to 'obedient' , so open to contact. I do not have my own horse (sadly, my beautiful fresian mare is only in my dreams), but I try to apply your advices and methods on the shcool horses I get to ride, but they're not receiptive at all, they usually trot and canter the head right up in the sky, making it hard to control, especially in cantering exercices. Working on leg yields and shoulder in whenever I can (in between exercices given from our teacher), but I still have trouble grasping the Banana positions and moving my seat correctly... that and me being a complete potatoes sack in canter (flying out of the saddle, lower legs flapping, same for the hands and elbows, a sorry sight ;__;). I'm sure regular practice with your own horse at your own pace is much more effective than trying a few seconds a week on horses with very different personalities and behaviours haha. Anyway, thanks a lot again for sharing your knowledge with us. Oh and last thing: Mowgley is so so so handsome. Such a beautiful boy, with very soft features and eyes.

Amazing how far he has come in such a short time. It's very humbling to see what a good rider can do with a horse. Can you make a dressage horse out of my bucky, spooky draught please ;) and a dressage rider out of me who's back in the saddle after a 20 year break ... and a lot out of the saddle due to said horse :D

Wow, the progress you're making with him is incredible! I'm kind of playing along at home, bringing my horse back into work, and you're going about it way faster than I am! But it's really cool to see the difference between how I was taught, and working out where I need to improve as a rider to support my horse's progress. I'm also a reminded that without an indoor arena weather makes a huge difference to the ability to train! Keep up the amazing job with our little superstar pony, and with the videos!

I’m learning so much from watching your progression with Mowgley (sp?)- I’ve an OTTB mare and she struggles with the exact same issues as him. From the right side weakness to the struggles with cantering to being straight in her body…and remaining confident throughout it all! I’m definitely going to be referring back to this video!!
