True story: these videos made me decide to start weightlifting. It’s been a month now and I’m so thankful to have found a barbell club in my hometown 🙌🏼

I'll second that. I'm not doing these lifts yet, but I'm a decade or more from doing my 5x5 stronglifts, today was my first day back in a gym since then. 😂 I need to find a work out partner and I'm set

Although 'Lift Companion' is my favorite series on KZfaq, I prefer the videos where you are outside your house in the parkway. I guess it's the open air, which is a nice change from the gym, which I'm used to seeing.
@georgef52129 ай бұрын
Yes Zack these videos understandably don’t do well with the general population as they aren’t inflammatory or based on current events, but they get people that train fired up to go lift with the boys (the favourite part of my day) so keep em coming big man 🫡
@JValerianS9 ай бұрын
Hope you find it worthwhile to keep posting lift companion despite the videos not getting the biggest traction - just know that the people who DO watch them, really love them. Might not find the time to watch the long form stuff as soon as it drops, but it's great to have videos such as these to just hang out with the boys when the time is right. Anyway, keep it up man - hope all is well!

zack you gotta figure out the audio on your videos. constantly clipping and used improperly. The wireless mic is for people, not the ground, either used as a mic itself or with a lav mic attached to the transmitter but since you guys are obviously moving around a lot best bet is to just clip it to your shirt or just use a good quality mic attached to your camera's hot shoe or cage. And when it comes to audio mixing, compressor to level out all of the quiet and loud sounds(assuming you're recording at -12db or just making sure really loud sounds aren't going into the red(clipping)) and an equalizer with a highpass at around 100hz and some tweaking in the 1000-3000hz depending on how the audio actually sounds but generally you can just use a standard broadcast preset in your video editor of choice. Next step is using a light touch of noise reduction and echo removal, just enough so it doesn't sound too artificial and you should be good. Plenty of good tutorials on youtube and if you have an editor that edits your videos, definitely let him know the audio in your videos is not good. Heck, I'll do the audio for you.

The amazing thing to me is seeing a very talented weightlifter who SHOULD be performing at a FAR higher level REFUSE to recognize his deficiencies (even after bombing out in Nationals) and NOT taking the steps necessary to improve by eliminating weaknesses. STILL using straps on snatches (for example) shows a willfulness and hubris that is bordering on the obscene. Meanwhile, his partner is making steady progress because she actually takes the advice and counsel of a qualified coach! The contrast is stark and revealing - a prime example of how talent can only take you so far in any pursuit that involves self-criticism and realization.

I live for that theme song, and I love this video format, it's like a podcast but better. Not sure why they're consistently the worst performing videos in terms of views, maybe you need to up your thumbnail game for them.
